EOS Season #8 kicks off at ‘Green Hell’

A new season of the Euro Offroad Series kicks off at the ‘Green Hell’ this weekend (14-16 Sept) with the extended six round 8th season of the 1:10 EP Offroad Championship returning to the Nurburgring in Germany.  After being abscent from last season’s calendar, the legendary motorsport venue welcomes back the EOS for what will be its fourth visit.  Running as part of the full size Blancpain GT Series weekend which will race on the real grand prix track, the event is a truely unique opportunity for RC racers.  While iconic car manufacturers battle it out for victory outside, it will be double champion Michal Orlowski who heads the factory RC entry on the indoor carpet track.  A 9-times EOS race winner, but never at the Nurburgring, the Schumacher driver will be aiming to take his tally to double digits this weekend and get his title defence off to the best possible start but his rivals have similar ambitions.

Yokomo YD-2 brake discs and callipers set

Yokomo have released this new brake discs and callipers set for the YD-2. The brake discs themselves will include an integrated hexagonal hub to be able to mount the wheels and there will be 3 hub thickness, 5.5mm, 6.5mm and 8.0mm which will are all included so that you can adjust the track width and scrub radius freely. The brake callipers, which can be mounted to new front and rear knuckles, are gunmetal colour to better represent the realistic look and finish of a real car. The set comes with new plastic steering knuckles and rear hub carriers in order to be able to install the callipers, which will be shaped to match our latest spec settings. The new steering knuckles are set for the optimum trail and kingpin angle which where referenced from the dynamics of a real drift car so steering response is improved while increasing the looks while counter steering. The steering stopper and tie rod mounting positions are also updated to the latest specifications, and the operation when increasing the steering angle also becomes smoother. The rear hub carriers are designed with new upper arm attachment positions and this new positioning allows an increase in the range of setting the roll centre and the camber change to the rear, making it possible to positively utilise the roll especially when at a low grip surface such as P tile. By keeping more of the contact area when the chassis rolls by raising the upper arm attachment position this will ensure more stable grip in the lateral direction, for more aggressive drifting.

Muchmore Fleta Pro V2 1S ESC

New from Muchmore is their 1S Fleta Pro V2 ESC. As the name suggests this speedo is suitable for use with 1S batteries and therefore aimed at 1/12th scale use. Made using a full aluminium case for better heat dissipation and therefore able to have higher current, its internal switch makes the wiring simpler as it removes the need for an external switch.
