Micha Widmaier crowned BAWÜ Cup Champion

After winning the recent 4th round of the German BAWÜ Cup, SWorkz’s Micha Widmaier was crowned the overall champion with two rounds to spare. Micha came out successful at round 4, taking both the Nitro Buggy and E-Truggy wins with Aleander Obermeier (Mugen) and Lukas Schulling (Mugen) coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Buggy class. In E-Truggy Micha was accompanied on the podium by Andreas Rüpp and Patrick Grübel (both SWorkz) while the E-Bugyg class was won by Kyosho pilot, Victor Gabriel. The SWorkz duo of Morris Voldenauer and Luis Schmid rounded out the top 3 results.

Xray XB8 series alloy monoblock engine mount

Coming from Xray and made for XB8-based kits is an aluminium monoblock engine mount. The part provides a solid engine mounting base and easier gear mesh adjustment compared to split engine mounts. The keyed mount design allows for the easy removal and replacement of the engine without the need for gear mesh re-adjustment after every replacement. The ultra-strong construction provides a longer life-span and durability in even the most extreme racing conditions. Aluminium engine stands for different engine brands are available separately. The monoblock engine mount fits kits such as the XB8 2016 and later, GTX8 cars and the XT8’17 truck.

Riccardo Berton successful at Sport Cup Race

The Jonny RC Modellismo and Agrimodel Pista Off-Road Pinerolo track in Pinerolo, Italy hosted the Sport Cup Race this past weekend. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Kyosho’s Riccardo Berton with the win from Agama driver, Giovanni Camamo in 2nd. Radiosistemi pilot Diego Fuser would round out the top 3 podium result.

Sam Issacs doubles at 8th Annual Charity Race

John’s Mobile R/C Raceway held its 8th Annual Charity Race this past weekend. The event attracted 94 entries and in the end it was Awesomatix’s Sam Isaacs who won in both the Touring Modified and 13.5T Spec classes. Sam would win 13.5 from TQ and Modified from 2nd on the grid. Xray’s Robbie Dodge TQ’ed Mod but would come in 2nd in both categories and Awesomatix’s Mike Gee would complete both the TC Mod and 13.5T Spec podiums.

Diatta Collymore takes Caribbean Nats title

The Caribbean On-road Nationals were held at the Barceloneta Speedway in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico last weekend. In the 45-minute 1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan A-main it was TQ holder Diatta Collymore with the win, a narrow three seconds in front of Andy Baez with the decision only going down in the final lap. Felix Ortiz ended the main on the 3 spot, some six laps down, as Reymon Melendez and Norberto Rodriguez rounded out the top 5 results.

BMT introduce updated 701 bumper

BMT from Italy have introduced an updated front bumper for the 701 1/10th scale nitro touring car. The redesigned bumper is longer for improved body support while added reinforcing fins increase overall rigidity.

Adam Drake trifecta at JBRL Nitro Series Rd4

Round 4 of this year’s JBRL Nitro Series was held at Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont, California last weekend. Veteran racer, Adam Drake (Mugen) was in control of things all day as he took the overall TQs in Expert Buggy and Open Truggy and he would also sweep the A-main encounters. In Expert Buggy Drake would take the win with a lap margin on HB Racing’s Colin Herzig in 2nd as TLR’s Dylan Nelson rounded out the top 3. In Open Truggy it was again Adam on top with Tekno’s Carlos Arredondo and A.J. Schumacher (Team Associated) coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Finally in Open E-Buggy it was again Adam Drake with the win, coming from P3 on the grid, as Anthony Westergaard (HB Racing) and Dean Rock (Tekno) completed the top 3 results.

GL Racing GLA V2 micro racing car

Coming from GL Racing is their new GLA V2 micro racing car kit. Fitting 1/27th and 1/28th scale classes the GLA V2 builds on the popular V1 and features a re-designed layout of the bottom chassis plate that now has all holes and screws located along the centre line of chassis which will reduce tweak and maximise flex. Also new are the redesigned servo and battery mount to fit the new chassis, while wider rear lower suspension arms and camber links to improve the rear stability of the car by changing the suspension geometry. A newly designed motor mount makes gear mesh adjustment more easy and precise and included with the car also come a servo saver as well as front and rear carbon shock towers. Other features include the efficient Hobbywing micro brushless ESC, a fast and durable servo, four-wheel double arm suspension system with friction grease dampers, as well as a smooth shaft driven transmission and ASC compatibility. Coming soon is also a 90mm and 94mm wheelbase conversion kit.
