French Winter Series Rd1 – Report

French Winter Series Rd1 – Report

The 1st round of the French Winter Nationals was held last weekend at the Argenteuil Racing Club near Paris. The track was laid out with the famous “black” high-grip carpet used at most indoor races with the layout being very difficult to tackle the 5 minutes races without making any mistakes. In the Touring Car Modified class the fight was on between Cyril N’Diaye, Mathieu Briere and Manuel Wagner. The opening A-final was undecided until the very last minute of the race with several crashes, especially in the last lap, which handed Cyril the win in front of Manuel Wagner. A2 and it was again Manuel who grabbed the runner-up spot following a big crash in the opening lap. A3 had Mathieu Briere leading the race and he was closely followed by Manuel but the latter touched a curb some 3 minutes into the race ending his final early. The final result saw Cyril N’Diaye taking the win from Mathieu Briere and Manuel Wagner.

Capricorn TE02 V2 motor mount system

Capricorn TE02 V2 motor mount system

Capricorn release first information on the V2 motor mount system for the TE02 touring car kit. Making use of a CNC-machined mono block for the motor and layshaft mount the construction gives the rear part of the chassis a different flex characteristic. By the looks of things the layshaft mount allows for several top deck flex settings as the upper deck can be coupled or decoupled from the mounts while a centre post in front of the motor further enhances the flex setting possibilities. The motor mount is fixed to the new 89mm wide chassis using four screws and the new upper deck is available in a soft 1.6mm and a hard 2.0mm version. The V2 system, that should become available very soon, will increase overall traction and mid corner speed.

ARC R10 2015 ATS kit

ARC R10 2015 ATS kit

ARC introduce the latest version of their popular R10 4WD touring car in the form of the R10 2015 ATS kit. The vehicle features the newly developed ATS Active Toe System, a design seen on many current touring cars these days. The ATS allows to adjust the toe angle change of the rear wheels during cornering in a range of up to 1.5 degree to provide more on-power steering and better rotation through the corner in order to minimise understeer. Part of the kit is a special ATS base plate that not only holds the drag links but it also acts as a stiffening plate as it allows to use two or four mounting screws to fix the plate to the chassis, making rear flex adjustment possible. Included with the kit comes the ATS system with standard hardness A-arms, aluminium C-hubs, composite knuckles as well as all parts to run a standard arm rear setup. On top of that the ATS version kit comes with dual joint front driveshafts, and an aluminium front belt tensioner. For owners of the standard R10 2015 an ATS upgrade kit is available.
