Renato Tradardi Jr. wins AAPARTT Cup

The AAPARTT Cup was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the 2012 Off-Road World’s Track called Speed Paradise. The track is almost like on-road, with long straights and fast corners making it a high speed type, requiring a car with good steering in mid and high speed corners. Friday was practice day but the open rounds have been washed away by the weather. On Saturday the track started to become very dry so the organisers watered the surface to avoid the build up of dust. A round of 20 minutes of free practice was held just before the qualifying rounds started meaning only little track time before the qualifiers. In the finals Renato Tradardi Jr. starting from 10th in the grid worked his way up trough the field and swiftly closed the gab to the top four drivers. He then shifted into second gear and took the first place and the win with his JConcepts shoed Team Associated RC8.2 thanks to a fast and clean driving style.

Boots fastest in Q2

Having thrown away any chance of a TQ at the first corner in the opening round of qualifying Team Kyosho’s Elliot Boots bounced back in style in Q2 to set a new fastest time by 2 seconds over Durango’s Joern Neumann with Kyosho’s other hot shot teenager David Ronnefalk, who also messed up his Q1 run, setting the third fastest time a further 8/10ths adrift. Just as the second round of qualifying came to an end it started to rain at the Fehring track but it would appear that it was just a passing shower although the skies remain very overcast.
