Indra Liono successful at Bali Fun Race

Indra Liono successful at Bali Fun Race

This past weekend the Bali Fun Race was held at the popular WillSon track in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. A total of 25 drivers attended from Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam, Kendari, Medan and Bali with the race format being four rounds of ten minutes qualifying with the three best rounds to count but due to rain pouring down in time for Q4, the race director decided to count the two best rounds out of three. This would hand Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) the TQ but unfortunately for him, Jason would suffer from two flameouts in the 45-minute A-main, promoting Indra Liono (Xray/SPower) into the lead that he would convert into a win from Jason while Yoko Sumarto (SWorkz/SPower) completed the podium result.

Xray XB8 carbon fibre shock towers

Xray XB8 carbon fibre shock towers

Xray have introduced carbon fibre shock towers for the XB8 1/8th off-road buggy. The front shock stay is cut from 4mm material while the rear variant is made using slightly thinner 3.5mm material, adding to the already existing 4mm variant. All offer an extra-strong heavy duty design, they allow the use of multiple inner ballstud positions in the rear and the standard composite inserts in the front and the 3.5mm rear tower is especially recommended for lower traction surfaces due to being softer in flex than the standard shock stay.

Dutch 200mm Nitro On-road Champs Rd3 – Report

Dutch 200mm Nitro On-road Champs Rd3 – Report

Round three of the Dutch 1/10th 200mm National Championship was held at the MAC de Baanbrekers club in Rucphen. Saturday’s weather permitted any dry track practice so most drivers used the day to prepare their rain cars and help out others. Luckily Sunday started off dry but with the previous heavy rainfall the grip level was pretty low and it had to build up over the day. Without any practice and with the changing track conditions the three qualifiers would be an interesting affair for all competitors that had to run mandatory Novarossi Sturm engines, Hipex low-noise pipes and Enneti hand-out tyres. In the National class Daan Jacobs took a close TQ, one second in front of Pedro Rombouts (Xray) and Julius Kolf (Serpent). Roy Bakker (Shepherd) would round out the top 4. In the slightly slower Nomac class, Bas Bakker lead Jos Remmerde and Arjan Versteeg for a Kyosho 1-2-3. Jurmin Etnel (Serpent) completed the top 4.

In the Pro Nitro Buggy A-main, Tony Bacon was able to TQ qualifying and take advantage of the pole to break away from the pack and just settle in to clean, consistent laps. Ultimately Tony would bring home the win from Danny Bartholomew who took second place. In the Nitro Truggy A-main, Tony would start third from the grid but he was able to take the lead on the first pit stop and his fellow competitors never caught up.
