MCD RR5 Ultimate CF Limited Edition kit

MCD RR5 Ultimate CF Limited Edition kit

MCD have introduced their latest gasoline-powered large scale buggy, the RR5 Ultimate CF Limited Edition. The bolstered-up Ultimate kit includes an arrangement of optional upgrade parts that were tested and used by the MCD Racing team drivers during many races including the European Championships. The alloy upgrades are CNC-machined from 7075 billet material and even though they are metal parts, the heavy machining makes them lighter than the respective composite versions. On top of that all alloy parts are hard-coated in MCD’s signature gun metal anodising to create a hard-wearing surface. The Ultimate kit is limited to 100 pieces only and you can find a list of all parts included after the break.

Reedy Sonic 540-M3 10.5T & 21.5T short stack motors

Reedy Sonic 540-M3 10.5T & 21.5T short stack motors

Reedy’s Sonic 540-M3 brushless motors are now also available in short stack 10.5T and 21.5T variants. A competition-proven short stack stator, wound with pure copper magnet wire and low-resistance collector rings, walks the edge of legality in exchange for maximum power output and RPM. Despite being designed for 1S applications, short stack motors can, under the right circumstances, create a power advantage in 2S applications such as Formula and 4WD GT classes. Like all 540-M3 motors, these new models feature a three-piece, CNC-machined can to reduce weight while improving airflow, component fit, and bearing alignment. Heavy-duty silver-plated solder tabs reduce resistance, feature a cupped profile to aid soldering, and are well supported to prevent internal connections from fatiguing over time. A balanced, high-strength sintered rotor provides fade-free performance thanks to improved manufacturing processes. Both models meet ROAR, EFRA, and IFMAR specifications.

Nikos Karabelas takes Greek 200mm title

Nikos Karabelas takes Greek 200mm title

The final round of the Greek Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Zorri track with many of the country’s top drivers in attendance. In the 1/10th 200mm class Nikos Karabelas (Capricorn) took the TQ after the qualifiers, some six seconds in front of the second fastest driver while smashing the track record in the progress. Nikos would be able to conserve his qualifying performance going into the 45 minute main final in which he would take a tone-to-tone victory to secure the 2015 Greek 1/10th Nitro title. Giannis Sotiropoulos (Mugen) grabbed the runner-up spot at the final round while Dimitris Dimitriou (Xray) was promoted into the third place post-race, as the car of Vasilis Lykaris (Shepherd) failed to pass scrutineering.
