Pro-Line Prime 1/10th buggy slick tyres

New from Pro-Line come the Prime slick tyres for 1/10th scale 2WD and 4WD buggies. They are targeted directly at racers currently running full “slick” tyres on clay tracks, saving them from having to grind treaded tyres down while delivering improved performance. Featuring unique grooves that add traction and stability when the track is freshly watered or when there is a slight layer of thin dust, the tyres offer additional advantage over a traditional slick that would spin in these situations. The raised treaded portion of the Prime tyre also has a distinctive rough surface texture similar to a ground slick tyre and makes the Prime have maximum performance right out of the package. The Prime is available as 2WD front, 4WD front and general rear tyre, in a traditional 2.2″ and new 2.4″ VTR variants and as both M4 super soft and MC clay compounds including blue closed cell inserts.

Lloyd Storey wins 2WD at SWS Rd3

The 3rd round of the popular Silverstone Winter Series was held at their indoor astroturf track in Northampton. As ever, the Silverstone team built a challenging yet flowing track to test the full entry of drivers. In the main 2WD class, Lloyd Storey and Nathan Waters took all four rounds of qualifying, with two each. Lloyd took the overall TQ by virtue of the faster time over 5 minutes, and would line up on pole for the A final. Nathan stayed on Lloyds tail for the entire length of the final, but Lloyd managed to take the win just ahead of Nathan, closely followed by Kev Lee in 3rd.

Elliott Harper signs with Schumacher

Schumacher announce that four-time IFMAR World Championship A-finalist and EFRA Euros podium finisher Elliott Harper has signed to represent Schumacher Racing on a multi-year deal. Elliott was one of the hottest properties in the driver market after announcing earlier in the year he would be leaving his previous sponsor. Schumacher would like to welcome Elliott to our Touring Car Team and wish him the best for the future. Elliott had this to say about the deal:

After deciding to leave my previous team, I took some time to carefully consider which company I wanted to represent and race for in the future. Schumacher became an obvious choice for me not only is their support and customer service second to none, but they have also achieved huge successes in all of their market leading projects. My aim is to continue these great results not only in the UK, but also across Europe and the rest of the world. I have seen the team work exceptionally well together, listen to driver feedback, continuously develop their cars and implement innovative ideas. My first touring car was in fact a Schumacher, so I feel very proud to fully represent the brand that started off my racing career. I cant wait for the coming seasons and races with Schumacher.

Serpent 748 SL6 XLI gearbox & new gear differentials

With the new Natrix 748 TQ Serpent also introduced the SL6 XLI lightweight 2-speed gearbox and redesigned front and rear gear differentials. The parts are standard on the 748 TQ and also available separately for 748 and 747 owners. The SL6 XLI eXtra Low Inertia gearbox is a direct replacement for the stock parts and they are designed to reduce the rotation mass for improved acceleration. Included come a new adapter, new shoes and a new bell and the gearbox is usable with the standard 2-speed gears.

Yeah Racing balance weights

Yeah Racing now have self-adhesive balance weights available for a range of applications. Coming as 2-strip packs with four 5g and four 10g weights each the weights help to quickly and easily adjust the weight balance of your vehicle. They also come in handy to increase the weight of crawler wheels for improved grip in certain conditions.

Xray XB4 steel differential & drive gears

Xray introduce new steel differential and drive gears for the XB4 line of buggies. Both the 35T diff and the 14T drive gear are of a hardened steel construction to improve durability and to offer increased lifespan. The additional weight compared to standard composite gears also improves drivability on high-grip surfaces. The gears are available separately.

Michael Schoettler wins at Northwest Indoor Series Rd1

Last weekend kicked off the first round of the Northwest Indoor Series in Tacoma, Washington at Tacoma R/C Raceway. A race series that wasn’t supposed to exist, but with a last minute decision by Scott Brown and a little help from the community … the most competitive off-road racing series in the pacific northwest is back. This unique event caters to all the passionate off-road racers in efforts to unite the community for a weekend of friendship, competition, and fun.

ProTek R/C TruTemp infrared thermometer

ProTek R/C’s TruTemp infrared thermometer will give an instant, accurate temperature reading of electric motors, nitro engines, battery pacsk or any other heat sensitive equipment. The large LCD screen is easily read day or night thanks to its bright backlight display. The thermometer features four modes of quick, can, maximum value and minimum value. It can also be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius scales with a range of -40°–716°F or -40°C–380°C. To conserve the device’s battery life an auto-off timer is preset from the factory for 1-minute.
