DHI-Cup 2015 – Announcement

The 2015 edition of the DHI Cup will be held from the 9th to 11th of January in Odense. As in previous years there will also be a 1/10th electric buggy race run alongside the traditional touring car event which in 2015 will see Touring Car Modified and Super Stock classes with the latter using “blinky” speedos and LRP 13.5T motors. Tyres for the touring cars will be LRP CPX which are provided by event partner LRP as are the 13.5T X20 brushless motor for the Super Stock class. Entries are open from Wednesday October 15th on on MyRCM and more information about the race can soon be found here and here.

HPI Savage XL GTXL-1 Vintage bodyshell

Made for HPI Racing’s Savage XL Octane and XL 5.9 is the GTXL-1 Vintage bodyshell. Resembling the look of 70’s and 80’s pick-up trucks the body is ideal to replace the XL’s standard body for something new and differently looking. Moulded from thick 0.040″ clear polycarbonate the body also includes a pre-cut vinyl decal sheet including headlights, grille, tail lights, official logos, window frames, door handles and more. Dimple marks for the Savage XL body post locations help to perfectly align the body on the chassis.

GRP 1/10th buggy carpet tyres

GRP’s 1/10th buggy tyres are specially designed for the use on carpet and astroturf tracks and they come as Buldog 2WD front, Conic 4WD front and 2WD/4WD rear tyre. Available in a hard “C” and medium “B” compound, with the latter being meant to be comparable to Schumacher’s yellow rubber, the tyres offer a high moulding quality and true running. Along with the tyres comes a line of water-cut foam inserts including standard-size medium and hard foams and an over-size “tubby” medium hard offering.

GRP pre-glued 1/10th touring car tyres

Italian company GRP have new pre-glued 1/10th touring car tyres available. The V10 line includes four dry track tyres and one rain tyre with the dry tyres coming in different configurations featuring light cell or medium moulded inserts for best possible performance in a range of track conditions. The medium compound S-28 and S-32 tyres are available with light cell inserts for colder, low traction tracks and also with heavier moulded inserts for grippier, higher temperature conditions, while the softer S-24 and harder S-36 are available with medium moulded inserts only. The S-36 also feature extra stiff wheels to make them ideal for very hot weather conditions. All tyres are of an optimised 64mm diameter with a 6mm high profile for improved handling and best possible steering precision while weighing in at 95g to 130g a set depending on the insert.

Hazlewood & Reeves win at HNMC Winter Series Rd1

Round 1 of the HNMC kicked off this past weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class Elliott Boots took the TQ but the 20 minute final had Jon Hazlewood (Agama) taking the win from Jack Embling (Mugen) who was able to held off Elliott Boots (Kyosho) for the runner-up spot. In 1/8th E-Buggy Simon Reeves came out successful in front of Mugen team mates Richard Cousins and Ian Barnard while Philip Michael took the win in the dying Truggy class. The next round of the series will be held on October 26th.

LRP Touring Car Masters 2015 – Announcement

The 2015 edition of LRP’s Touring Car Masters will take place from the 23rd to 25th of January. While the 18th running of the event is set for a much earlier date in 2015 there will also be some other changes such as double points for the LRP-HPI-Challenge classes, starting in two different classes will be allowed, there will be triple finals for all classes and the organisers also provide a new and improved carpet. Also new is an updated tyre rule with every driver being allowed to use an unlimited amount of hand-out tyres.
