Exotek B5M battery strap & FlexFit cap

New from Exotek Racing comes the ‘Flite’ carbon battery strap for the Team Associated B5M buggy and a Navy FlexFit hat. Starting with the battery retainer, the part is cut from high-quality carbon fibre, it weights in at only 6g and replaces the stock composite strap with a more rigid part. The direct replacement strap is useable with stock and aftermarket thumbscrews. Also new is the adult-size FlexFit hat with embroidered Exotek team logo to show your passion to everything Exotek. The cap is available in S/M and L/LX sizes.

Kyosho 69 teeth 48 pitch spur gear

Kyosho America introduce a 69 teeth 48 pitch spur gear for the use in stock and spec brushless classes. The smallest spur gear to fit the current 1/10th slipper clutch allows the lower ratios typical for this type of racing and it is made from high-quality composite material for low weight, high strength and low running noise.

Olly Jefferies teams up with GForce

6-times BRCA and current BRCA 1/12th Modified champion Olly Jefferies teams up with Japanese company GForce. The Xray driver will use GForce’s line of electronic accessories such as chargers and tyre warmers in his 2014 campaign.

1st Annual South Florida Winter Champs – Report

Coral Springs RC Track hosted the first annual South Florida Winter Championship and they did not disappoint. Friday morning racers were greeted with a fresh new layout and amazing weather. Without a cloud in the forecast racers began to arrive early Friday morning for early practice and to get there cars dialed in for the weekend. Saturdays race program would bring 3 qualifiers, rocket round style and some fierce competition with over 190 entries. By mid morning the track was well grooved and racers qualifying times continued to improve. Sunday the dust was settled and the mains were set.

Reds Racing 2014 R5 engine range

Reds Racing have new R5 buggy engines available in the form of the R5T Team Edition and the R5 Racer. The 2014 versions both feature a new front ball bearing with improved sealing and better durability, a redesigned crankcase with wider fins close to the exhaust makes for better cooling and the power plants also come with a new combustion camber insert and cooling head. The R5T Team Edition is hand-tuned by Mario Rossi and comes with a silicone-filled, balanced and tuned crankshaft, rear ceramic bearing, RDC hard-coated backplate, 5-port sleeve with exhaust port booster and a long needle carburettor. Before leaving the factory the engine is hand inspected and compression checked for maximized performance.

Brand & Moon win at Tennessee State Championship

ROCCK Raceway located in Knoxville, TN hosted the Tennessee State Championship bringing in over 150 entries from Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky and other surrounding states. JConcept’s Shay Brand was able to TQ in Pro eBuggy with his Mugen MBX7-Eco. In Pro Buggy Shay was able to finish up qualifying 2nd overall, behind Cole Ogden, running his MBX7. Mark Moon was able to TQ in the Open 2WD Short Course class and later took his TQ spot to victory. In Pro eBuggy Shay Brand converted his TQ position into a win while finishing 2nd in Pro Buggy.

Speed Power E801B 1/8 electric buggy

Speed Power introduce the E801B 1/8th scale electric off-road ARTR buggy kit. The vehicle builds on a tough aluminium chassis with 3-differential shaft drivetrain, it features aluminium suspension mounts with moulded inserts for easy setup adjustments and it comes with aluminium shock towers and spring steel CVD driveshafts. Included are also hardened steel main, crown and spur gears, big bore shock absorbers with rubber boots, a carbon fibre differential and steering support plate as well as a clear polycarbonate bodyshell. The buggy comes factory assembled and without the needed RC components, speedo, motor and batteries.

MCD Racing camber & ride height gauges

MCD Racing have new setup tool for large scale cars available in the form of a camber and ride height gauge. The camber gauge allows measuring the wheel’s camber angles in a -10 to +10 degree range while the ride height tool measures in a 20mm to 70mm range. An extended arm allows to virtually measure on all parts of the chassis for improved usability and precision. The tools are made from high-impact plastic and work with 1/5 and 1/6 scale cars, buggies and trucks.
