Team Orion Vortex VDS2-HV 2607 & 1605 servos

Team Orion have released two brand new servos, the Vortex VDS2-HV 2607 and VDS2-HV 1605. Both servos feature digital high-voltage technology built around a high-performance coreless motor and both are waterproof, robust and precise. In the high-grade plastic/aluminium case for best cooling a set of high-precision full metal quality gears is installed. In combination with the ultra smooth and strong coreless motor these servos will give you the great feeling and reactivity you need to be ahead of your competitors. While the VDS2-HV 2607 is built for high torque applications thanks to a rated torque of 26kg at a speed of 0.07 seconds the VDS2-HV 1605 version is perfect for high-speed usage (0.05seconds/16kg).

Xray T4 1.6mm graphite upper deck

From Xray for the T4 is this new graphite upper deck. To generate even more traction, the new 1.6mm top deck was developed to increase traction and in-corner steering. With the thinner top deck, the car will flex more which generates overall more traction. The top deck is a direct replacement for standard 2mm top deck and is suitable for both carpet and asphalt surfaces.

Speedpassion have introduced their new SPMark-I 1/10th scale Formula 1 body. Designed for Formula 1 chassis’, the new SPMark-I body takes customization and tuning to a new level in the rapidly growing 1/10 scale F1 racing segment. Dustin Evans extends Team Orion deal

Team Orion factory driver Dustin Evans has re-signed with the Swiss company through 2013. This will be Evans’s 3rd consecutive year with Team Orion and over the past 2 years, Evans was able to capture his 1st ROAR National Championship at NorCal Hobbies in Union City, CA in 2011 as well as countless other races with Team Orion including the prestigious Invitational Class Overall at the Reedy International Off-Road Race of Champions in 2011. Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars says, “Dustin has been a big piece of the puzzle for Team Orion’s electric off-road program. Dustin has been great to work with and testing new products that we use today”.

JConcepts Super Cup Series #1 report

Space Coast R/C of Cocoa, FL, played host to round 1 of the 2013 JConcepts Super Cup Series. Race 1 of the New Year is something special as everyone is back from the Holidays and itching to get back to racing (many with new cars or equipment). The first race is also when the series banquet kicks off the New Year by celebrating the previous year’s points championships as everyone receives their well deserved awards while letting loose away from the track. The banquet was amazing with plenty of prizes handed out from the series sponsors, video comedy sketches, and gift cards throughout the event. Thank you to the following people who help put this banquet together; Matt Mosieur, Rich Muller, Fred Reep, Jason Ruona, and Allison Ruona. Special thanks to Cheryl Shiver for her amazing photos.

Team HB re-sign Andy Moore for 9th season

2006 ISTC World Champion Andy Moore has re-signed with Team HB for the 2013 season. Coming off a strong 2012 season, including a 4th place finish at the IFMAR 1/10th IC World Championships, Andy will be looking for more success in 2013. Andy will be campaigning the HB TCXX and R10 platforms for the upcoming season. He had this to say:

I’m excited to get racing in 2013 after a successful 2012 with both the TCXX and the new R10. This will be my 9th year running for team HB/HPI and I’d like to thank Tatsuro Watanabe and Hiro Kasuya for their continued support. As always I will be at most of the big on road races this year and look forward to seeing everyone at the track.
