European Short Course Masters – Announcement

Thunder Tiger Europe got in touch to tell us about the European Short Course Masters 2011, that takes place at MC Welden, close to Munich Germany, from the 9th to the 12th of June. The race is open to all racers across 4 classes, 2wd hobby class (only SC10 RTRs), 2wd modified class, 4wd modified class and a 1/8th 4wd Modified and Nitro class. Team Associated will be sending over US superstar Ryan Maifield and they will likely send another named driver also. Olivier Bultynck wins Belgian Nats Rd3

For the third race of the Belgian touring car season last weekend, they went to the track of RCR at Roeselare. On practice Saturday the competitors had a sunny day but during the night some rain was expected. The track was wet on sunday morning but a little sunshine and the track was dry and for the whole day it was cloudy but no rain. Qualifying in the EFRA class it was Corally driver Olivier Bultynck that took the TQ ahead of Thomas Stockman and Nick Joosens. The final results were a repeat of the qualifying results, with Olivier taking the win after the first 2 A-mains despite having to come from behind in the first final. Xray driver Thomas Stockman took 2nd and Nick Joosens driving a Yokomo was 3rd.

Motonica have announced the signing of Italian ace Raimondo Gilletti. Raimondo has been racing RC since 2000 and has acquired great experience for his young age. For the last 3 years he has been ranked in the Italian Top 10 and has already taken part in the most important racing events at both National and International Level. The first events that will see Raimondo running the P81 RS are the Ecomodel Trophy in Gubbio, Italy (11/12 June) and the Euro Nitro Challenge in Hildesheim, Germany (23/26 June).

CNC-machined from Hudy Spring Steel, it has been strategically lightened by 55% compared to the standard front middle shaft. The front middle shaft is highly wear resistant at contact points, helping to increase the lifespan of the shaft bearings, while rotating mass is reduced without sacrificing strength or durability.

Kyle Johnson takes 4wd at Silver State SC race

Fresh off his Silverstate Nitro Challenge win with his Losi 4wd TEN-SCTE Team Losi Racing driver Kyle Johnson TQ’d and won the Silver State Short Court race at 702 raceway in Las Vegas. The event was a two day race with qualifying Saturday and mains on Sunday. Kyle showed speeds that no one could match in qualifying allowing him to start up front on Sunday for the main. Kyle took his blistering speed right into the main on Sunday to take the overall win.

Capricorn LAB-C801 option parts

Capricorn have been busy lately, with more new parts for their LAB-C801 chassis. First up is the new set of lightweight red anodised aluminium wheel nuts, that replace the quick release lever, allowing for a more accurate and true mounting of the wheels. Next up are a pair of rear shock stays, which have the same design as the original carbon version but have been made from treated steel for more strength. A new rear body mount centering assembly, with new carbon plate, features ball bearing for a smoother movement. For tuning purposes there is a new 3.2mm rear wire anti-roll bar, which comes with the mounting collars and ball bearings. And finally for all 1/10th scale cars, Capricorn also have a simple set of nylon rear wing screws & nuts.
