JConcepts T4.1 Punisher body

The Punisher body by JConcepts for the Associated T4.1 is designed to increase on track performance with its aggressive hood and cab placement for added down force. The bed area is also designed with performance in mind, there are designated areas to cut out to help reduce the dreaded parachute effect and stabilizer fins for added stability on high speed tracks. Paul Wynn and Zach Genova debuted the new body in punishing fashion at the 2010 ROAR Region 4 Championship. Every round of qualifying was TQ’d with the Punisher body as well as taking the top two positions in the A-main.

Speed Passion, has introduced their new ‘App’ for the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The new application, called ‘RC Car A1’, works with almost all RC Cars on the market and features a stop watch and lap counting features, a gear ratio calculator for electric on road and off road as well as for gas cars and the ability to save and share, through Facebook or the SP website, your Speed Passion ESC setup as well as setups for other brands of ESC like LRP, Tekin and more. Future development will include the ability to adjust and update the firmware of your Speed Passion ESC through the device itself using the application. Available now through the Apple App store.

Orion On Road Winter Cup - Announcement

The organisers of the On Road Winter Cup that takes place at the Moto Arena  in Silverstone were in touch to tell us about their new series. This 6 round championship gets underway this weekend and continues through to the end of April, with races every month. The series is open to stock, pro stock and modified touring cars as well as World GT & F1 and Tamiya Mini classes with the end of series prizes sponsored by Team Orion.

RPM SC10 Rear axle carriers

New for the SC10, RPM have released this rear axle carrier using the larger outer bearings found in Associated’s #9730 axle carriers. The larger outer bearing supports the axle better, providing over 1/16′ more axle contact than two 3/16′ x 3/8′ standard bearings, for smoother, longer lasting performance. With the larger outer bearing and RPM proprietary materials, they found the perfect blend of strength and durability for a whole range of Associated 1/10th scale electric vehicles.

Axial XR10 crawler upgrades

Axial Racing have released a number of upgrades for their XR10 crawler. Starting with this battery plate, it has been machined from high-grade carbon fibre, is height adjustable and includes all the hardware allowing the battery to be positioned as low as possible. There is also a new electronics plate, which again has been machined from high-grade 3mm carbon fibre. The new plate gives a lightweight mounting platform for your electronics and is 65% lighter than the factory electronics tray. Axial have released the Stage 3 aluminium Hi-Clearance links kit, which is a replacement for the upper and lower links from the XR10. This kit provides additional clearance and performance for the XR10 chassis. For additional tuning options there is a new range of shock springs in black (1.04lbs/in), purple (1.43lbs/in) and orange (1.75lbs/in). Finally for the RTR AX10 and SCX10 there is this steering upgrade kit that replaces the stock plastic steering links increasing steering strength and precision.

Ardent winter On Road series Rd2

The second round of the Ardent winter On Road series took place over the weekend, with the Schumacher team once again in attendance and looking for some good results. The series is run on the Sorex 28JB control tyres which can be run for many runs without deterioration in the performance which is excellent for the drivers and for sure adds to the popularity of the series. With a packed venue with 14 heats it shows what a good job John and his crew are doing in the area.

Hung & Hang win Hobbypro Open

Hung & Hand win Hobbypro Open

The Hobbypro Open was held recently in Hong Kong and with the weather not co-operating, it was raining on practice and qualifying days, all racing had to be completed on the Sunday. With 110 drivers in attendance across two classes, 1/8th on road and 1/10th 200mm on road, qualifying saw Daniele Ielasi take the TQ spot in 1/8th scale, while Hung Cheung Hang secured pole position in the 1/10th scale class. In the 30 minute main Team C driver Luk Chi Hung took the win by a lap from Lau Chi On in 2nd, with Ielasi in 3rd a lap further back. The 1/10th 200mm class final saw the pole man Hang take the win by a lap from Samuel Chiu in 2nd, only 3 tenths ahead of 3rd place, top electric touring car racer Ronald Volker who was making his gas class debut with Shepherd.

Cole Ogden dominates HCRCR Turkey race

Go Engines USA and VP Pro USA are reporting that they have won the First Annual Turkey race at the all new HCRCR in McDonough, Ga. Cole Ogden TQ’d the Pro buggy class with team mate Ryan Lopez qualifying 3rd. After a great battle between Lopez and Cole, Cole came out on top by two seconds over Lopez, with Tim Smith taking 3rd.
