The BRCA 1/8th Track Nationals took place at the popular Halifax track this past weekend. Shepherd’s Andy Hastings took the TQ honours and was pretty much on pace with eventual race winner, Tim Wood (Shepherd), however Andrew unfortunately scored a DNF, allowing Mark Green (Serpent) to take the runner-up spot as Serpent’s Richard Hicklin rounded out the top 3 results. Round 5 of the BRCA 1/8th Track National Championship was held at the Mendip track last weekend. In 1/8th Nitro On-road and after the finals had to be restarted due to an accident involving personal injury, Tim Wood carefully started into the main final. Since no tyre change was planned on his Shepherd car, but his opponent, Serpent’s Alex Thurston went for a tyre change, the outcome of the race should be decided in the late stage of the race. But due to a gearbox damage Alex lost valuable time so Tim was able to drive home a safe victory….

Bjornflaten – Serpent/O.S./Byron On Sunday also the qualifiers and finals of the 1/8th Electric class were run, and again it was Daniel who had a comfy gap down to the rest of the drivers. The qualifiers went smooth and Kobbevik took the TQ in front of Vincent Rüger (HB Racing), and 3rd placed Mathias Fink with his Mugen. In A1 Daniel just drove away from the rest of the field an easy win as the fight for 2nd and 3rd was harder but it ended with Mathias Fink taking 2nd…

The third round of the Portuguese 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Pista de Vilela track this past weekend. Serpent’s Carlos Duraes would walk away with the win in 1/8th Nitro Buggy, winning the A-main with a 1-lap margin in front of Mugen’s Ricardo Monteiro in 2nd and TLR’s Goncalo Melo 3rd. Joao Lopes and Nuno Casal Ribeiro would round out the top 5 results. Over in the E-Buggy class it was Ricardo Monteiro with the win from Nuno Casal 2nd and Joao Figueiredo 3rd. …race John Carr (Shepherd) claimed the final podium position from Jason Frost at the end of the 30 minutes. In 1/8th Electric the battle for TQ would be between Craig Nutting (ARC), Paul Bellinger (Serpent) and Dave Gerard (Serpent), with Craig on TQ at the end of qualifying. In the A-main an intense battle between Craig and Paul started and Craig took the win, followed by Paul and David. There was good racing amongst the top 5 but Craig had the edge. Round 3 of the Czech 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held in Dolni Bukovsko on a huge track and in hot weather conditions, making it a real challenge for man and machine. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was a 3-horse battle for the overall TQ with Kaja Novotny coming out on top from Martin Bayer 2nd and Jiri Mara 3rd. In 1/8th E-Buggy things were super close and thanks to TQs in Q3 and Q4 it was again Kaja who took the overall TQ honours from Jiri in 2nd and Martin 3rd. In the Nitro semifinals Martin laid down…
