RC Maker have presented their new V2 Top deck range for the Mugen MTC2 and one-piece range for the Awesomatix A800MMX. Building on the development of their first MTC2 version, they wanted to produce their own pivot screws to improve the adjustability and efficiency of the flex, and also strength of the top decks whilst achieving maximum pinion clearance. The end result is the V2 & their new SlimFlex 1-piece. Awesomatix have announced the addition of German stock class driver Louis Kretschmer to their Factory Team. Louis is another ‘young gun’ in the Awesomatix Team and he will participate at the Euro Touring Series events, where he recently finished 4th overall, as well as local events in Germany like RCK and TOS races. The 2021 edition of the Schumacher GP Italy took place at the beautiful outdoor track of Minicar Fontanellato near Parma and saw solid participation with available places being sold out some time before the race. In Touring Car Modified, Team Schumacher’s Mattia Collina, won a thrilling race from the TQ ahead of Alessio Tolomelli (Awesomatix) and Luca Torreggiani (Xray). In qualifying young gun Filippos Oikonomou (Awesomatix) took pole position after winning Q3 and Q4 in front of Giorgos Maricholas (Awesomatix) with a win in Q2 and Giorgos Kalantzakis (Xray) with a win in Q1. In the finals, the battle was fierce between Oikonomou and Maricholas with the latter taking the overall victory winning A1 and A3 and the former taking home P2 winning A2 after some bad luck in the first final. …the following runs, the Awesomatix went on to take TQ ahead of Jefferies but would start the finals on used rubber. On fresher tyres for leg one Jefferies did not take long to ease past Grainger and once ahead Jefferies set about managing his tyres for leg two taking as little out of them as he could to take the leg one win. Two new items from DeadFly for the Awesomatix MMX, the first is this I-Brace which is a centre line rear brace that alters the rotation characteristics of the car. Using both screws provides the most rear end stability and least steering. By using just one front screw and a set screw in the rear hole, the I-Brace gives a spring effect on the chassis.
