BMT 081 Rally Game chassis

Long standing Italian manufacturer BMT are close to releasing their latest Rally game chassis, the 081. This new chassis has completely revised geometry, better weight distribution and a lower centre of gravity compared its predecessor. The car, in the hands of super quick Italian racer, Francesco Tironi, was used to win the RG class at last weekends Kyosho/ Sirio Cup in Greece. Due to the country’s rules, Tironi had fitted a 2 speed gearbox to his car, something that is normally not allowed in the rules, and despite breaking a 1st gear in the race was able to stay out in front and take home the win.

Is this what Bmt is doing these days!? They used to make fine 1/8 scale on-road cars. Anyway it’s good to see them back.

Dear All,

I was Francesco’s Teammate for that race. I had the car for a week, but due to weather conditions all week (and also on saturday before the race) i was unable to try the car even for a small drive. I had not practiced or raced for 2 months but still was was able to do the second time on the starting Grid behind Franky. On the final i had the second fastest lap and it was about .5sec faster that the other Competition RG cars in there. I can only say that this car is fun to drive and basically it drives it self to victory. Our cars were equipped with the Sirio RR and they were almost as fast as 1/8 onroad cars. After the race we tested Frankys car with the 2 speed on the complete straight and the top speed was amaizing. We will be receiving cars next week. Anyone who wants can ask me at: tony@kyosho.gr
