Pro Tips with Jilles Groskamp – Part 1
Categories - Drivers, Racing, Video - trackback
The first in a new series of videos that offers in-depth tips from the pro drivers, we hooked up with Tamiya Racing Factory team driver Jilles Groskamp to get some insight into how he prepares his race winning Tamiya TRF416WE. In this first video, Jilles tackles the perfect shock absorber, from stripping to rebuilding. Future episodes, which will be shown here and also on our YouTube channel (see link next to the search box) in the coming weeks, will tackle the ball differential, final assembly and tweaking of the chassis.

i have always been curious, if your shocks have un-equal rebound after being rebuilt jilles says to rebuild them, but does that mean dump the fresh oil and start again or just add more oil and remove all the air again?
cheers

Remove a little of oil -> just un-turn a little cap and turn it again,
some oil will go away, but not a big drop or drops, only a little.
You must play with it, after few times, you got good result.

When looking on a good bartender serving beer I tend to copy the technique with tilting the glass eehh shock to avoid letting to much air in when filling the shock.
