Following on from part one of this five part how-to video series, this 2nd episode from Serpent chief designer and former World and European Champion Michael Salven focuses on the cleaning, measuring and assembling the perfect Centax clutch. The remaining videos in this series will show how to build the Serpent’s shock absorbers as well as setup and tweak the chassis ready for racing.

hi the clutch gap of .6mm you mention is that gap of the clutch enbell floating off the shoe. i am confused because he did not mention if the clutch bell should be touching the clutch shoe. if i did the same setup like him my clutch bell is touching the shoe which i think you will want it not to touch the shoe.

When you are going to measure the gap, only the thrustbearing is installed, Then you press the bell against the shoe, so yes indeed it needs to touch the shoe.
