Sunday afternoon was the 45 minute final. Sadikin took the early lead with Erwin Luhur in second & Bowie Ginting in 3rd. Bowie took second after 5 minutes with Erwin dropping to 3rd. Steven Jovanovic fighting back through the field after an early incident got himself back into 2nd. Jovanovic was on a different fuel strategy to all other drivers stopping every 4 minutes. 18 minutes in Sadikin stripped second gear & continued the race for another 5 minutes until bringing it in to change the gear & tyres. Jovanovic did an early tyre change 20 minutes in to try & get the jump later in the race. 25 minutes and all the cars did their tyre change. After all tyre changes & 45 minutes was up it was Jovanovic in 1st, Bowie Ginting in 2nd & Fayakhun Andriadi in 3rd.
Race entries for 1/8 were a little down this year. Qualifying saw Ricardo set the early pace with 18 laps 5:03.596, Teddy Syach in second with 18 laps in 5:16.009 & Leigh Dytor in 3rd with 17 laps 4:51.021 running out of fuel. It was an exciting final with H.Irman taking the early lead from Leigh Dytor in 2nd & Ricardo in 3rd. Around the 10 minute mark we had H.Irman run out of fuel which brought Leigh Dytor into the lead. At around the 18 minute mark Leigh Dytor ran out of fuel allowing Ricardo into the lead. 22 minutes in 90% of the field had changed tyres & which seen Ricardo still holding the lead but by the end it was Leigh Dytor who took the win, with Sadikin in 2nd & Teddy Syach in 3rd.
Thanks to Steven Jovanovic for the report.
