Chris Grainger wins Rd3 of BRCA TC series

Round three of this seasons BRCA National touring car championship saw victory for Schumacher’s Chris Grainger ahead of Colin Price and Andy Moore, the event proved to be one of the most intriguing for many seasons. Halifax is renowned for being quick on new tyres and tyre strategy proved to be the big talking point at the head of the field, while Chris Grainger and Tamiya’s Elliott Harper slogged it out fighting for TQ other drivers including Andy Moore and Olly Jefferies were saving their fresh rubber and attempting to qualify on just one set.

Elliott Harper took pole ahead Chris Grainger but following leg one of the A final it looked like Moore and Jefferies tactics had paid off with Olly Jefferies taking the leg one win from the Hot Bodies of Moore Leg two of the final went the way of Colin Price after a strong drive and this set up a grand finale for the third and final leg. The final leg of the A final saw a procession of cars lapping the fast Halifax track bumper to bumper, it appeared that most drivers were praying for errors from the drivers ahead but it was text book stuff from UK’s top touring car drives, Chris Grainger took leg three ahead of Andy Moore and Colin Price and in doing so took the meeting overall. With three meeting gone the series has seen three different winners, the final two rounds should be very interesting.
