Edu Escandon wins 1/10th 200mm Rd1 in Spain

Round 1 of the Spanish Nationals took place in Ferrol, at Naron´s track. It was the first time that the Nationals visited this track, so it was a new experience for all drivers. On Friday the track was wet in some areas and most drivers couldn’t test their cars until late the afternoon. Unfortunately, Saturday started with a completely wet surface and we suffered heavy rain all day long, so drivers started to work on their cars to preserve the electronic parts.

After five rounds of qualifying, Xray drivers Sergi Franch, David Campos and Christian Lopez qualified directly into the final with Edu Escandón taking 5th after some problems due to heavy rain. The weather was better on Sunday, but the track was still wet. From the semi-finals, Edu Escandón, Jose Antonio Aldudo, Carlos Ferrando, Adrian Santeiro and Oscar Romero bumped up into the final. In the main, Edu took an easy win after the 30 minutes, followed by Christian Lopez in 2nd and Carlos Ferrando in 3rd, making it full podium for Xray.
