Chris Stanley wins GT class at NSW State titles

Moorebank Raceway hosted the 2014 New South Wales State IC Titles and for the first time ever 1/8 GT was offered as a demonstration class and is anticipated to be an approved class in the near future. The field comprised of a variety of brands which was dominated by Serpent Cobra GT drivers. Qualifying commenced on Friday with two qualifiers completed. Rick Seymosberger made an early statement in his Cobra GT which he improved upon during the second qualifier.

Saturday saw another four qualifiers completed and resulted in Serpent driver Chris Stanley taking TQ by a significant 6 seconds over his nearest competitor. During the 30 minute final, held on Sunday, Chris Stanley took an early lead but was quickly defending his position from Rick Seymosbergen for a number of laps and at one stage Stanley slipped back to second place. However this was short lived as Chris set the lap record with a 19.324 and was assisted by his lighting fast controlled pit stops from Shaun Kaltenbacher. The pair obviously had things sorted out. At the 30 minute mark the buzzer sounded which saw Chris Stanley taking the win by an impressive 3 laps over second placed Rick Seymosbergen.
