Mibosport Summer On-Road Cup 2014 – Report
The final race of the Mibosport Summer On-Road Cup 2014 took place at the permanent on-road track in Blansko with over 40 drivers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland in attendance. The TQ holder in the Touring Car Modified class was open till the very last qualifying session. After three sessions, David Nemcek held the prestigious TQ spot as his main rival, Radek Flek had very bad luck due to technical problems followed by a mistake of a marshal, who put another car right into Radek’s racing line, which cost him a broken suspension and a retirement from the qualifying round. Despite all those problems, Radek did not give up and he grabbed the TQ in the last qualifying session with the fastest time of 24 laps in 5:02.438.
The first A-main meant a very tough battle between Radek Flek and David Nemcek. They were racing side by side almost the whole final but in the end, the victory went to Radek who crossed the finish line only 2 tenths ahead of David. Radek also had a good start into the second leg and most of the time he controlled the rivals behind him. On lap 18 David knocked on the trunk of Radek’s car which resulted in a position swap of the two but David gave the position back to Radek as there was the threat of a stop & go penalty. In that moment the 3rd spot driver, Vaclav Sauer could not avoid David’s car and pushed him a little. That allowed Radek to finish the final 2 seconds ahead of David Nemcek and Vaclav Sauer. Thanks to a point for holding the TQ and two victories, Radek Flek took the overall win in the Touring Car Modified class of the Mibosport Summer On-Road Cup 2014. The third A-main was then won by David Nemcek ahead of Vaclav Sauer as Radek Flek opted to sit out the final.

The TQ in the Stock LRP class went to Stanislav Nemecek, who won the first, third and fourth qualifying session, ahead of Vlastimil Svec and Michal Vitamvas. In the first A-main, Stanislav Nemecek was a bit wide in the 4th corner and this allowed some of his rivals to pass him. But Stanislav is a very experienced driver and few laps later he was leading again until the end of the final to take the win in the opening A-main. The 2nd place went to Dusan Vicanek, coming from 5th on the grid. The second A-main was absolutely under control of Stanislav Nemecek who won the final and took the overall victory. Michal Vitamvas finished 2nd ahead of Dusan Vicanek. Vlastimil Svec then took the advantage of Stanislav Nemecek’s decision to sit out the final main, as he won the 3rd A-main ahead of Michal Vitamvas and Pavel Magda.

The overall win in the Formula class went to Antonin Pospichal. In the Yokomo GT category, Roman Stalmach would only finish the race in 3rd position but that was enough for him to take the overall victory of the class.
