Nielsen wins Rd6 as Johnsen takes Danish Le Mans title

The final round of the Danish Electric On-Road Championships was held on a purpose-built track inside a shopping mall 15 kilometres outside of Copenhagen. 21 drivers attended in the Le Mans class and again the race as on between Rasmus B. Nielsen and Michael Johansen with Peter Harder and Thomas Mortensen also being in the mix. All participants of the final round would have 10 points added for the championship result and therefore every of the previous winners was eager to show up. So far the season saw three different winners with Thomas Mortensen winning the first round, Michael Johnsen scored in next three rounds and while Rasmus B. Nielsen grabbed the win in the penultimate round, meaning the race for the title was on between Thomas Mortensen, Rasmus B. Nielsen and Michael Johnsen.


Michael knew that a 4th place was enough to win the title, but right from the start he had big problems with his car as he experienced a lot of oversteer and so Rasmus and Peter were racing for the TQ spot. In the 3rd round of qualifying, Michael solved the problems and he was back in the game but had to settle for the 4th place on the grid.

The first A-final saw a contact between Rasmus and Peter that would send them both way back down the field, meaning an easy race for Thomas, who took the win in front of Michael. In the second leg the top 4 battled for the win with Rasmus coming in 1st, followed by Peter, Thomas and Michael. At this point, it was almost clear that Michael would take the title. The third final then again saw a clean start, Rasmus just pulled away with Peter a little behind, and a small mistake of Thomas made way for Michael to take 3rd place. With this result Rasmus took the day’s win from Thomas and Peter.

With the 4th place at the final round Michael Johnsen secured himself the Danish Le Mans class Championship.
