McBride doubles at Australian Off-road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the 1/8th Nitro Off-Road Australian National Titles was held at NWRCCC down in Tasmania, Australia. This year the nationals has turned into a three-round series – instead of one national title, the events are spread over the year and are held at the start, middle, and then the last round at the end of year to decide the overall national champion for all three rounds. At round one Kyle McBride would make a clean sweep in the Nitro Truggy qualifying and he would also win four of the five Nitro Buggy qualifiers.

After winning the Truggy semifinal A Kyle would start from pole position into the hour long A-main and right from the tone McBride would open a gap to his competitors. In the end he lapped all the other 14 cars by almost two laps to take the Nitro Truggy win from Josh Pain in second and Craig Laughton in third. In Sunday’s Nitro Buggy semifinals Kyle again grabbed the pole position for the A-main and he would have yet another flawless run to take the win in front of Craig Laughton and Andrew Foord in second and third respectively.
