Nicholas Lee wins at Team James Cup

The Team James Cup was held this past weekend at the SportsSeoul GRC Track in Kimpo, Korea. The race was attracted by top international drivers as well as local talents but bad weather limited the amount of practice before the event, however things turned to the better on Saturday that was all sunshine. The day started off with three free practice rounds followed by one controlled practice round and three qualifiers with the nice day of racing ending under the floodlights. In the first qualifier, it was Alexander Hagberg who would take the TQ after swapping the lead with Nicholas Lee a couple of times, but the later made a mistake in the final corner. EC Kim would finish 2nd for the round with Lee coming in 3rd, not able to complete his final lap. Hagberg would again TQ in the second qualifier by 0.9s ahead of Lee, with another top local Korean driver, Ahn, coming in 3rd. The last qualifier would be ran under the floodlights. Hagberg would again go out on new tires to secure the overall TQ ahead of Lee on used tires and EC Kim in 3rd with new tires.

In the first final, Hagberg and Lee had already made a gap in the beginning. Hagberg would go wide and this allowed Lee to pass him and take the win ahead of EC Kim and Ahn completing the top 3. The second final was much closer in terms of racing with Hagberg and Lee. Lee would find a way past Alex in the opening stages. He was not able to pull a gap as the race went on. Lee protected his lead throughout and was able to take the win in the second final to secure the overall win. In the last final it was Alexander Hagberg with the win to secure the overall runner-up spot from EC Kim.
