GRP Gandini factory destroyed by fire
We received the terrible news out of Italy that fire has ripped through the GRP Gandini factory in Guidizzolo, Italy last night. Thick, and i’m sure toxic, smoke fueled by plastic in the building filled the air around the blaze. Needless to say this is a massive set back for the manufacturer and their employees, but thankfully it seems no one was hurt and the Gandini brothers will hopefully rebuild. We will keep you informed of any updates.

This is a very unsensitive thing to say (and I sure do hope everything works out well in the end), but I’m sure at the same time these are the exact thoughts of a lot of people in this industry today: Isn’t the timing just a bit “too good” considering the company’s recent economic difficulties?

that is horrible news …
I wouldn’r have tought that they were having any difficulties , with the release of new Tires and all their engines . I would have thought their business was booming if anything .
Surly they have insurance and will be back on top of things soon.

the newspaper asks the question, How can a fire burn a factory in such little time ? It continues on to suggest the fire may have been on purpose and started in more than one place in the factory.

@K, I Totally agree with you, I indeed had the exact same thoughts!….
@nitrokillah, Which release of which tyres?
engines?, they where already released last year.
They didn’t release anything recently, and this must be a sign.

A plastic, rubber and foam factory is filled with highly flammable products.
Sad to see this tough.
