Ryan Cavalieri crowned ROAR Touring Modified champion

The 2016 ROAR Electric On-road Paved Nationals were held at Valkaria RC in Malabar, Floria over the weekend. Split in several electric on-road classes including Touring Modified and Stock as well as USGT 21.5 and World GT 13.5T it was Team Associated’s Rick Hohwart who TQed two of the four Touring Modified qualifiers to take the pole position for the triple A-mains. 2015 ROAR National Champion, Ryan Cavalieri came in second from Team Associated teammate Randy Caster. In the opening A-main, Hohwart, Cavalieri, and Caster would all have a great battle for the entire 6 minutes. As the checkered flag waived, it was Cavalieri crossing the finish line in 1st. In the second main, Hohwart and Cavalieri would have another epic battle, this time Hohwart would come out on top with Cavalieri a close second. With the Championship to be decided in the final A-main, Cavalieri paced Hohwart closely for the first couple minutes of the race. A small mistake from Hohwart open the door for Cavalieri to get by. Cavalieri then did what he does best and drove a flawless last half of the race to take home his second ROAR Modified Touring Car National Championship in a row. Rick Hohwart came in second from Keven and Randy, making it a 1-2-3-4 for the all-new Team Associated TC7.1 touring car that hit the light of the day just last week.
