French Mugen racer Renaud Savoya capped off a dominant performance at the European Championships in Crete by taking the European title ahead of former Champion Robert Batlle. The Spanish driver had taken the lead early in the race and pulled out a considerable lead, but a broken rear arm with 15 minutes to go meant that Savoya could come back in the late part of the race, and take the lead from the crippled Hobao driver with just over 10 minutes to go, and never looked back. Defending European Champion Robert Batlle has won the second of the Semi Finals here at a very very hot Iraklion Model Centre track. The Spaniard completed the same number of laps as Semi A winner Savoya and managed a faster lap time but was almost 30 second off the pace of the Frenchman who has looked so in control throughout the 5 days of this championships. The first semi final of the 2008 EFRA European Championship has just taken place and Top Qualifier Renaud Savoya made the 20 minute encounter look like just a formality ahead of the main job in hand, winning the Main Final which gets underway here in Crete at 16:00 local time. Defending European Champion Robert Batlle has just TQ’d the fifth and final heat doing so in style by setting the fastest 5 minute run of the championships. The Hobao/Ultimate Racing driver tried a radial shock set-up for the heat and the Spaniard was very pleased with the result and will stick this for his Semi Final. La Hobao / Ultimate Racing driver provato un radiale scosse di set-up per il calore e lo spagnolo è stato molto contento del risultato e questo bastone per la sua semi finale. Second fastest, but some 6 seconds off Batlle’s blistering pace, was fellow countryman and Bergonzoni driver Raul Peris. Renaud Savoya may have TQ’d the 2008 EFRA European 1:8 Off Road Championships already with his three heat wins yesterday but the French driver is not throttling back and this morning set the fastest 5 minute run of the event so far with just one qualifier left to run. Vatomme have released 2 new pan car chassis’, the E12 1/12th scale and the M10 1/10th scale, both of which are brand new designs with the E12 a T-bar chassis and the M10 a trailing link chassis. The E12 features a unique T-bar tweaking system that allows the tweak to be adjusted from the bottom of the car, through the use of 2 grub screws, while the rear end is available in 2 different versions, comprising of the ‘Asso damper’ style and the ‘tube damper’ style. La E12 dispone di un unico T-bar tweaking di sistema che consente di ottimizzare l'essere corretti da parte inferiore della vettura, attraverso l'uso di grub 2 viti, mentre il posteriore è disponibile in 2 versioni differenti, che comprende dell ' "Asso serranda' stile e il 'tubo serranda' stile. The M10 is the first Pro 10 200mm chassis from Vantomme and has been made to compete in the resurgent Pro 10 class.
