Nacho López wins Valladolid 1/8th National

The 1/8th scale Spanish national championship moved to Valladolid last weekend and front running Serpent driver Nacho López sent us the following report. We arrived to Valladolid on Friday before lunch, with many new things to test such as W2 Rear uprights, link set for the radio-tray, and other setup changes in order to adapt the car to the sinuous track of Valladolid. Another important issue of this track was the tyre wear! With new tyres, if we pushed hard the life of the tyres were from 15 to 18 minutes. Anyway, after the two firsts fuel tanks I had good sensations and the car worked very well. The rest of the Friday we were testing minor changes in the car and different engines. We changed from Zytec V1 to Zytec V2 with a big improvement in my laptimes! So we ended the free practice day happy with the setup and also with the engine.

Team Titan semi-painted ISF & RS4 shells

Team Titan have released semi painted versions of their popular Blitz ISF & RS4 body shells. The ISF 2.0 comes semi-painted with blue, pink, light blue and white, while the RS4 come with a white, orange, red and blue design. You just need to add a final color of your choice in the clear area to complete the body shell.

Team Azarashi TRF201X body shell

Team Azarashi have released photos of their new body shell for the Tamiya TRF201X. No details or even a name is available for this prototype shell yet but the images show a very narrow front as well as a forward mounted cockpit which helps get more airflow to the rear wing. Expect a release date some time in September.

HongNor SCRT10 Chassis braces & universals

HongNor have released 2 new optional parts for the SCRT10 short course truck. The first is this pair of aluminium chassis braces that replace the standard parts and remove all flex in this area. The second release is this pair of center universal joints.

Sweep Racing USA signs Randy Pike

Sweep Racing USA have announced that they have signed Randy Pike to their team to run Sweep tires throughout the season. Randy had this to say about the deal:

After extensive testing I have chosen to run Sweep Racing’s line of offroad and onroad tires. Testing at a private test track showed improved tire wear and lower lap times. The Sweep Exagon tire has replaced my regular “go to” tire in my line up. Sweeps latest ribbed tire insert helps prevent tire squirm under high load situations greatly.
