What an epic day of qualifying! 48 heats twice through, started at 8am and ended at 10:30PM. Round 1 of the 25th annual Cactus Classic is saw Team Associated’s Ryan Maifield dominating the field. With his home track advantage and his cars looking stellar around the track, he finished with TQ’s in 2wd Modified Buggy, 4wd Modified Buggy, and Pro-2 Short Course. Ryan had some minor motor issues in Pro-4 SC but otherwise would have likely TQ’ed that as well. I asked him what the plan for round 2 is and if he is going to change anything up. He said, “Everything is working really good today. I’m going to put a new motor in the SC-10 4×4 and hopefully have a better run.”

New from Axial, the XR10 Heavy Duty Gear Plate is precision machined from durable billet aluminum and is 4mm in the heat-sink / motor mount area. The finned heat-sink design disperses heat faster due to increased surface area. The motor mounts directly to the 4mm heat sink section for both rock pounding durability and quick heat exchange for all day driving.

The opening day of the Polish ETS encounter was very much an Alexander Hagberg affair with the Swedish ace ending the day at the top of the time sheets. The factory Xray driver improved with every outing and setting the fastest lap of the day in the fifth & final practice and will now carry No.1 on his LRP powered T3’11 in the top heat for the four rounds of qualifying that make up tomorrow’s schedule at Arena Legionowo.

Having brought you a sneak peak of the new updated Suburbs from Pro-Line, the US company has released full details on these new tires. The Suburbs SC 2.0 feature a wider tire design so you can put more rubber down and get better traction, all while remaining within ROAR tire rules. This tire is also super long-lasting because it features more pins and a deeper tread. The Suburbs SC 2.0 tread design is ideal for high traction conditions, which is often found at indoor clay and outdoor blue-groove tracks. Included with this tire is the new soft closed-cell insert that achieves even more traction because the tire conforms better to the bumps and jumps on the racing surface.
