Jilles Groskamp leaves Tamiya

2012 IFMAR World Champion Jilles Groskamp has announced that he has left long time electric touring chassis sponsor Tamiya. Deciding not to renew his contract for the 2015/16 season, the Dutchman who is based in Thailand has announced that he has a new deal already lined up but who that is with is yet to be announced but we have a fairly strong idea who it will be. Jilles stated the following:

Today is the day I will not be driving for Tamiya anymore! I have decided not to renew my contract with them for the 2015-2016 season. A new adventure has come on my path and I’m more motivated and excited then ever. I want to thank Tamiya for 7 great years! I have won my first Euro and World title with them and without their help I will not have achieved those ultimate victories! I would like to wish all the Tamiya guys lots of success and I’m sure they will as the 419 is a great car! For all my “Tamiya” fans all over the world I would like to thank you for all the support and I’m very sorry to tell you this news but you are always welcome to visit my at the races for a chat or drop me a message! Soon I will inform you more about my new adventure, so stay tuned!
