Reavis, Nguyen & McCall win inaugural PDX Triple Invite

Last weekend the inaugural PDX Triple Invite was held at PDX RC Underground in Portland, Oregon. The invitational had the Northwest’s best and fasted drivers and had over 85 entries. The format was a modified Reedy style with four rounds for each class using race points with one drop. Tie breakers were total laps and time of the three rounds used. The layout was wide with a couple of large features and good flow. Modified invite was won by Team Associated’s Ryan Reavis easily taking the overall with four wins. 2nd was a 4-way tie with privateer Jeff Phelps running a TLR taking 2nd, and team Xray driver Travis Harker in the 3 spot.

2020 Silver State Indoor Worlds – Announcement

The team at The Dirt Racing has announced the 2020 Silver State Indoor World Championship will take place from May 14th to 17th at the South Point Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The venue will be hosting the event for the third year and the organisers have some awesome plans to make it a great event. The schedule will be the same as the first year with Thursday practice, Friday and Saturday qualifying with some lower mains on Saturday night and remaining mains on Sunday. The arena is packed for the season and the only move in and set up dates available require the The Dirt team to follow this format. JConcepts 1982 GMC K10 1/16th E-Revo body

Coming from JConcepts is the 1982 GMC K10 truck body shell for the Traxxas 1/16th E-Revo. For the early 80’s model year of the popular truck, the iconic square body emerged, a chiseled front-end, gently swept back from the center. Fenders were redesigned as well as the hood and the classic vent windows. A new sloped hood replaced the previous generation hood that had less rake, and the exterior changes include optional headlights and an updated tailgate. Side-markers were now horizontal rather than vertical which is another tell-tale look of the later generation styling. The wheel wells have been scaled to the original size vehicle, for the most clearance or maximum articulation with large tires, it might be necessary to trim further into the fender flares for the tire size used. The square body generation spanned an incredible 14 years and with small changes to grille, headlights, and trim packages throughout the years, JConcepts has added a bonus to the included decal sheet. Five different grille options are included on the sheet giving the user the option of their favorite square body grille and trim package. Quadruple light and double light bezel setups are included which contain bar and tube grille combinations. In addition, a plethora of badges are offered on the sheet featuring Sierra Grande, Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne, Scottsdale and Silverado combinations.

RDRP B74 aluminium steering optionals

RDRP have introduced their new aluminium steering optionals for the Team Associated B74 buggy in the form of alloy bellcranks and a +4mm steering plate. Starting with the aluminium steering bellcrank set, it is a direct replacement for the standard composite parts, it is machined from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium and comes black anodised and with machined silver edge details. Using the alloy steering bellcranks over the standard parts adds much needed precision to the steering system while also greatly improving overall durability. The increased overall rigidity will also help with steering emphasis, enhancing the steering feeling especially in high-bite track conditions such as carpet and astro turf.

Mihelic & Wendy take Austrian 1/8th On-road titles

The final round of the Austrian IC Track championship was held at the very fast Sollenau track recently. In 1/8th Nitro On-road it was Xray’s Nejc Mihelic with the overall TQ followed by Superpole winner, Gerhard Kandelhart (Shepherd). In the main final it was Nejc who would bring home the win flag to flag with Alain Levy (Shepherd) coming in 2nd from Gerhard Kandelhart in 3rd. Overall in the championship it was also Nejc who would bring home the title, taking four of the four rounds with Alain and Gerhard completing the overall top 3. In the 1/8th Electric class it was Patrick Wendy with the overall title after winning three rounds of the championship for the maximum points score.

MonacoRC have introduced their new folding box that allows easy and convenient transportation and storage of smaller parts such as bolts, nuts and ball bearings. Made of sturdy plastics the box features a magnetic closure that ensures the multi-compartment box stays closed even during travelling. The white colour box is decorated with colourful MonacoRC logos and it is available now.

Euan McLeod crowned double Scottish Junior Champion

Following a very successful season, Euan McLeod was recently crowned Scottish Junior Champion in both 2WD and 4WD Buggy. The Schumacher driver snatched the titles while his brother Fraser backed a great season for the family, coming in 4th in both cases.
