Xpress Execute FT1 FWD touring car kit – Coming soon

Xpress have issued a teaser image of their production-ready Execute FT1 FWD touring car kit that is scheduled for release in mid-October. The car utilises parts found on the proved XQ1 4WD touring car, such as low-profile shock absorbers, a floating steering servo mount and others, however it also sports new design features such as a front bumper with an integrated cooling fan mount as well as bumper-located front body mounts that ensure easy and reliable body mounting even when running bodies with a lower hood section. Full details will become available in time for the release.

Awesomatix tease A800MMX mid motor touring car

Awesomatix have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming new A800MMX mid motor touring car. No official details are available yet but it is understood that the car will be a mid-motor-only offering, rather than a conversion kit as the company’s current top-of-the-foodchain kit that has to be build using the standard rear motor car and the mid motor conversion. Full detail will become available in time for the release which is scheduled for November.

MOD/TLR 5th scale Championship – Report

The 2019 MOD/TLR 5th scale Championship series recently concluded after visiting a total of six separate tracks across the West Coast. Hosting tracks were Socal Nitro Raceway, Fear Farm, Delta RC, Good Ol Boys, CVR 2.0, and Wild West Raceway with the series not only spreading the awareness of 5th scale racing but also drawing in racers from all the regions to be able to experience different conditions, different layouts, and different challenges. In its first year the championship brought in a lot of new racers as well as helped improve each region’s knowledge of 5th scale in order to help cultivate club racing at a local level and help promote the hobby for the better. In 4WD Pro Buggy it was David John Orner, running a Matt Olson loaner car, with the overall championship in his maiden large scale season. Chris Higa and ADI’s own Josh Alton came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

HB Racing vented Mod 0.8 clutch bells

HB Racing have introduced their new Module 0.8 vented clutch bells that help cool the clutch for more reliability during long races. The Mod 0.8 gears have a finer gear pitch for smoother and quieter gear mesh, finer gear ratio adjustment, and improved drivetrain efficiency. They are precision machined from high strength steel and designed to be a direct bolt-in replacement part for non-vented Module 0.8 clutch bells. The clutch bells are available in 16T and 17T specification and they fit HB Racing’s 59T and 60T module 0.8 spur gears.

Thurston & Paton win at BRCA 1/8th Circuit finale

The final round of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit Series took place at the Wombwell Circuit near Barnsley with damp weather conditions. Alex Thurston had a great debut for his new chassis sponsors Capricorn, taking the TQ and win in the nitro class from Mugen drivers Andy Hastings and Sam Snell. In the Electric class again Capricorn dominated as Jamie Paton took the win from Rob Scott and 3rd was Shepherd driver Robert Stevenson.

HB Racing E817 long wheelbase chassis

New from HB Racing is a long wheelbase chassis to upgrade the E817 and E817V2 electric buggies to the same wheelbase as the E819. The new chassis is 2mm longer than the stock E817 chassis for improved handling and jumping. The main plate is precision machined from high-quality aluminium for a perfect fit, and hard anodised black for durability. When using the long wheelbase chassis the E819 36mm rear centre dogbone must be used.

Xray T4 2020 electric touring car – Coming soon

Xray have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming all-new T4 2020 electric touring car kit. According to Xray the car will be a complete redesign with spy shots of prototype cars suggesting a move to the now-popular mid motor/mid spur gear design and possibly also newly designed, longer A-arms. Patrick Hofer takes Swiss Expert Nitro Buggy title

The Neuchatel Mini Buggy Club held round 5 of the Swiss 1/8th Off-road nationals last weekend. In the Expert class it was Christoph Affolter with the overall TQ from Jeremy Pittet in 2nd and Sven Zünd in 3rd. Overall championship favourite, Patrick Hofer only qualified in 7th overall. In the 45-minute main final it then was Jeremy Pittet with the win a lao in front of David Naldini as Patrick Hofer was able to take the final podium spot, some seven seconds behind David. With round 5 being the season finale, also the overall champions would be crowned with his 3rd place being enough for Patrick to bring home another Swiss National Championship title.
