Avid Truss 1/8th scale buggy wheel

Avid have released a black version of their Truss 1/8th scale buggy wheel, previously only available in white and yellow. The wheel name is derived from the internal ribbing that uses the strength of triangles instead of having straight ribs. The focus of the Truss starts at the centre of the wheel so the tighter triangles help keep the torque strength right where you want it when applying all your throttle, at the nut. Outer channels remove a little rotating mass at the furthest point but more importantly they help the foam from shifting side to side. The benefit on track is that the car has more stability, especially when you are off power trying to swerve left and right to avoid a wreck or through a set of switchbacks after a high speed section.

Schumacher Mezzo 1/10th offroad tires

Schumacher are pleased to introduce the latest in a long line of successful 1/10th offroad tires, the Mezzo. Featuring a completely new carcass design, where development has focused on the thickness of the profile to support the pin and improve its life. The Mezzo has a varied pin type across the tire, enabling it to be more suitable to a wider variety of track conditions, including long and short pile astro. The pin type gives improved side traction whilst maintaining forward traction. It also lasts longer and has better bump handling, due to its taller sidewall profile. The front 4wd tire is aimed at longer pile astro and lower gip and pins can be cut to reduce traction if required. For 2wd they are still recommending the U6770 Low Profile Cut Stagger combined with Mezzo rear, for a longer life tire set up. Ultimately the popular Dart tire could be faster over a single run in some conditions, but life is much extended with the Mezzo. It’s a great all-rounder. Ultimately the Mezzo is aimed at Astro, Yellow compound for dry high performance, Silver for wet and Blue for longer life.
