Schumacher Winter Series Round 1 – Report

Back for its seventh season, the 2025/26 Schumacher Winter Series presented by UK Club Louth Radio Control Car Club kicked off over the weekend with Chris Lovely taking the win.  With defending champion Tim Wood missing the opening round, there was an opportunity for his competitors to get a head-start.  In qualifying it was Lovely who secured the TQ with his Xray, ahead of the Awesomatix of Andrew Twigger with the rest of the top six made of the Associated of Gareth Jaime, the Mugen Seiki of Jay Kay, the Schumacher of Matthew Heath and the second Mugen Seiki of Andrew Babb.  Lovely remain in control for the final, taking a tone to flag victory to take home the maximum points.  Twigger would come home 2nd having put on immense pressure all final, with the fight for the final podium position being the most intense on track action. Jay Kay, Heath and Jaines would be locked together most the race, and only in the latter stages would it become a two horse race decided in the remaining laps. With Jay Kay securing the final podium position, ahead of Heath, Jaines and Babb.

In the junior category James Colebrook would put in a strong performance to mix it with the sensuous finishing in the highly converted B final. Elliot Twigger would show skill and precision mixing it with the elder races, coming home 2nd in class.  The master category would have Jay Kay taking home making points with his Mugen Seiki, followed by Ross Smythe and his Schumacher along with Andrew Reid and his Destiny.

Thanks to Chris Lovely for the report.
