Volker wins 2025 Asian Onroad Championship
Ronald Volker was the dominant force at a rain effected 2025 Asian Onroad Championship, the Mugen Seiki driver taking the TQ & win at the stand alone event hosted at the impressive GRC Raceway in Korea. With this year’s event attracting an impressive international entry led by the Axon of 2024 Champion Akio Sobue, due to rain the main action would end up being condensed into a single day made up of 3 rounds of qualifying and double Mains. Topping all three qualifiers, Volker claimed the TQ ahead of Ji Heon Yoo, Sobue and Alexander Hagberg. In the finals Volker’s domination continued as he won A1 by over 3-seconds from the Xray of Hagberg and the Awesomatix of Marc Rheinard, a spin on the opening lap by Heon Yoo dropping him down the order. In A2, Volker won by an even more impressive 7-second margin from Sobue with Rheinard again P3 but overall it would be Hagberg and Sobue who joined Volker on the podium. In 17.5 Boosted Zaccheus Lam took the TQ & win while in FWD Yong Wan Choi was the winner.
