Defending Montech NYGP 1:12 Modified Champion Kemp Anderson has opened the 7th edition of the New York based event with a TQ run, the Awesomatix driver fastest from team-mate Sam Isaacs and CRC’s Ollie Payne.  Having topped seeding in AbsoluteHobbyz 1:12 Modified class, the 23-year-old carried that form in to the first of the four scheduled qualifiers at the 360V2 track taking the 8-minute run by almost 3-seconds from Isaacs.  After a strong start, Payne dropped back finishing a further 2.3-seconds off the TQ pace.  Organiser of the NYGP, Donny Lia would get a fourth for the round despite the multiple World Championship finalist struggling to get his Awesomatix to his liking.  Excelerate’s Josh Cyrul and 1:12 Spec World Champion Max Mächler completed the Top 6, with the later having to be marshaled, which cost his almost 6-seconds on a track where Anderson’s fastest was an 8.415.

Xray X4‘26 Touring Car

Xray has unveiled their ‘all new’ 1:10 Electric Touring car chassis, the X4‘26.  The Slovakian manufacturer is offering three versions of the X4’26, allowing customers to choose their ideal starting point: the Carbon Edition, and the 1.5 or 2.0mm Aluminium Editions, each tuned for different track conditions.  The new car benefits from 30 grams of total weight savings without compromising durability, very beneficial in spec class racing that requires larger battery packs.  The all-new narrow chassis design accommodates new suspension and bulkhead designs, including short and standard arms, as well as the new shock holder mounting positions.  New suspension geometry moves shocks further outboard to improve traction and steering response in all conditions.  All-new new CFF2 lower suspension arms with integrated composite detailing maximises suspension rigidity and improves handling in all conditions.  Newly designed bulkheads compliment the new suspension parts. A universal design at all four corners uses an interchangeable bulkhead for left-right and front-rear, reducing spare parts count and simplifying repairs.  Brand new design CFF upper arms with reduced flex from its optimised shape contribute to the more consistent handling of the new suspension.  Also new is the carbon fibre steering & ARS plates optimise geometry, flex and reduce un-sprung weight.
