ZooRacing Wolverine Mini 1:10 M-Chassis Body

New from German body shell producer ZooRacing comes the Wolverine Mini, the smaller M-Chassis brother of their popular Wolverine Max 1:10 Onroad body.  The 2 times IFMAR World Champion and 4 times EFRA European Champion in this new form factor is designed to push the boundaries of performance in the M-Chassis Mini Touring Car Class.  The Wolverine Mini represents a leap forward in aerodynamic efficiency and handling.  Lots of new features improve the handling, more contact pressure offers more stability in corners with lots more rotation. The aerodynamic efficiency has been improved again as well.  The overall length has been shortened to achieve a lesser inertia and therefore a better rotation around the vertical axis.  For more steering in fast corners ZooRacing has redesigned the front and hood and made them steeper.  To easier steer the airflow along the sides over the rear wheel arches to the rear wing, to create more downforce, they’ve tailored the sides a lot.  The rear is designed very even and uniform for a low centre of gravity and to ensure an easy airflow to the wing.  For a consistent flow they’ve remodelled the rear fenders to minimise turbulences at the rear of the body.  To achieve better aerodynamic efficiency they have elongated the roof and for the first time the windows at the side have an arch build in, to even out the pressure ratio of the airflow.  The included Hellcat rear wing improves that even further.

Ongaro fastest as 4WD gets underway in Australia

Defending World Champion Davide Ongaro has set the early pace as the 4WD action gets underway at the IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championships in Australia.  Having just missed the A-Main cut in 2WD, after two rounds of 4WD free practice it was the Italian who lead the way from 2WD Top Qualifier and Team Associated team-mate Marcus Kaerup.  With the first practice more a sighting run for the drivers on the freshly prepared track, racing now running in the anti-clockwise direction and the jump surfaces rework for that change, the second round was more indicative of form and it was good to see Xray, after their struggles in 2WD, back in the mix.  Dakotah Phend would post the 3rd fastest time based off 3-consecutive laps with team-mate David Ronnefalk managing 5th fastest.  In between them, Daniel Kobbevik led the Schumacher team as team-mate and newly crowned 2WD World Champion Broc Champlin was brought back down to reality with only the 18th fastest time.  Describing his opening two practice runs as ‘alright’, Champlin said they are ‘still trying to get the car into a better window’.

Xray XB2’26 2WD Buggy

With the 1:10 Offroad World Championships taking place currently in Australia, Xray has unveiled their latest 1:10 2WD Buggy, the XB2‘26.  The buggy, which is offered in a Carpet or Dirt kit options, features an all-new 2.5 mm chassis lineup with optimised flex with a mid-size for carpet, short-size for dirt.  Reinforced and revised C-block improves durability in demanding race conditions while all-new rear D-block with optimised suspension geometry provides 1° toe for carpet and 3° toe for dirt.  The buggy gets a stronger rear roll center holder for long-lasting reliability.  In terms of weigh saving there are all-new ultra-light titanium turnbuckles on all suspension links, new lighter differential outdrives which reduce rotational mass for faster acceleration, sharper braking, and improved drivetrain efficiency.  On the suspension side, all-new -1 mm shorter shock caps extend the up-travel range, new spring collars -6 mm allow a wider ride height adjustment window, and stiffer 4-dot front & rear springs included in the carpet kit for more consistent handling.  An all-new 6-dot lower rear shock tower ensures consistent handling on carpet while new wider offset settings for carpet (rear 5-slot, front 2-slot) give maximum stability.  The Dirt kit includes a wider, higher downforce rear wing for enhanced traction.

New from SuperRad comes their SR-26 1:10 Oval Stock Car Body which is designed for modern 1:10 oval cars.  The body features a usable cut line, in contrast to other bodies that need to be cut a half inch higher than their cut line to be made runnable.  Made in the USA from .020” polycarbonate. it is TOUR approved (Pro Stock, Super Stock, Mod) and includes decal sheet, and window masks.

HPI Racing Sprint 3 Pro Touring Car

With a first prototype of the car seen at the 2024 FEMCA Championships last December at the GDC track in Foshan, China, HPI Racing has put the latest prototype of its upcoming Sprint 3 Pro Touring Car on display at the National Retail Hobby Stores Association Show in Las Vegas.  Expected to launch in Q1 of 2026, the all-new 4WD Mid-Spec Carbon Belt Chassis is a platform engineered and built for club racers with competitive pricing one of the goals of the kit.  Showing both a carbon fibre and steel chassis option of the car, it is understood that HPI Racing do not intended to make a full factory racing return to 1:10 Electric Touring Car, with the Sprint 3 Pro in fact a engineering project to develop their next generation belt-driven RTR Sprint 3 car.  Having developed the prototype, they have decided my not release the high speed version to club racers.

1:8 Onroad Worlds announce Matrix as official tyre

Italian tyre manufacturer Matrix has been announced as the official tyre supplier for the upcoming IFMAR 1:8 Onroad World Championship which takes place in Santiago, Chile from November 27 to December 7th.  The 24th running of the sport’s original World Championship category, drivers will race at the impressive Club de Aeromodelos de Chile (CACH) track using a Matrix combo of 32-35 Shore, 69-76 Diameter tyres on its lightweight wheels.  Having just successfully hosted the 1:8 GT World Championships, Raptor’s Alessio Mazzeo doing the double, the club received a boost with 2015 World Champion Simon Kurzbuch confirming on social media his trip to South America.  The Mugen Seiki driver is set to go up against another confirmed entry Toni Gruber, the former 1:8 GT World Champion looking to add the 1:8 World title with Capricorn.  Just announcing his switch to Ielasi Tuned engines, Andrea Catanzani will lead the Serpent charge.  As with the GT Worlds, Italian fuel manufacturer Energy will power all the cars as the official fuel supplier.

Catazani joins Ielasi Tuned engines

Having recently announced his departure from long time engine sponsor Gimar, top Italian nitro onroad racer Andrea Catanzani has joined Ielasi Tuned Engines.   Top Qualifier at last month’s 1:8 GT World Championships in Santiago, Chile, the 20-year factory Serpent will make his international debut under former World Champion Daniele Ielasi engine brand when he returns to the impressive CACH track for the IFMAR 1:8 Onroad World Champions at the end of November.   On the announcement Catazani said, ‘I’m very happy to join Ielasi Tuned, I thank Daniele and Sabrina for the trust they have placed in me and I hope to repay it on the track as soon as possible.’

Champlin on top of the World Down Under – Schumacher gets first 2WD World title

Broc Champlin is the new IFMAR 1:10 2WD Offroad World Champion, the American securing the biggest accolade in the sport by winning the opening two A-Mains in Sydney, Australia, and claiming Schumacher’s first 2WD World title.  Kicking off finals day at the Hills RC Off Road track with a TQ run in the fifth & final qualifier to line up second behind Top Qualifier Marcus Kaerup this was to be a hint of what was to come.  With Champlin all over the rear wing of Kaerup in A1 there would be contact on the penultimate lap, the pair touching mid air in the double double.  With Kaerup’s Associated going tumbling, Champlin came out of it just in the lead after a drag race down the straight with World Finals debutant Davey Batta.  2-time World Champion Spencer Rivkin would come through from sixth to complete the Top 3 as Kaerup crossed the line in fifth.  With a protest against Champlin proving unsuccessful for Kaerup, the Dane would lead away A2 again with Champlin applying the pressure and four laps in as he got his buggy on two wheels, Champlin didn’t need a second invitation to go through to the lead.  It was to be a lead the 23-year-old would hold, a mistake from Kaerup putting an end to any potential come back, and crossing the he became the latest IFMAR World Champion on the 40th anniversary of the championships.  With the new Champion locked in, Champlin becoming the 15th driver to join the 2WD roll of honour, A3 would decide the remaining podium places.  With Kaerup finally convert his pole position into a win this would see him salvage a podium behind Batta, as he, Rivkin, and Daniel Kobbevik all finished on the same points.
