2025/26 RugRacers Round 2 – Report

The second round of the 2025/26 RugRacers took place over the weekend and in Modified defending champion and championship leader Elliott Harper showed no signs of wanting to let either slip.  Producing a clean sweep in qualifying taking all 4 rounds ahead of Stefan Chodzynski & Matthieu Dambrine, the finals didn’t show any sign of letting up either.  The Scumacher driver stormed to the win in both legs with all the action on track taking place behind him, Stefan holding onto 2nd by a few tenths from Matthieu, Leg 2 shuffled the order a little with Chris Grainger taking 2nd ahead of Liam Tyrrell in 3rd.  With the action taking a break for a while, the final round will be held on the 1st March 2026, only 1 champion is left to be crowned in FWD, but expect Zak & Elliott to be looking towards keeping a clean sweep for the shortened series this season.

In Stock, Zak Finley sporting the #1 after his Round 1 victory, Andy Murray was fastest in Round 1, with Zak hitting back to take Round 2, Finley Whitelock taking Round 3 by 1 sec reset the fastest time which Zak was able to better to take Round 4 and line up on TQ. In the finals we were treated to some of the closest racing possible with Finley locked to the back of Zak’s car for the duration of both finals, the gap never bigger than .7secs which by the end of Leg 2 would see Zak cross the line with both Leg 1 & Leg 2 Victories but Finley in 2nd with less than 6ths of a second distance combined over the 2 legs, Adam Southgate making up the 3rd spot on the podium from 5th on the grid.

Frontie continues to be hugely popular with many on the waiting lists for the chance to race with some of the best drivers in the country, Defending champion Ben Moorey would lead the pack away but it was Ethan Southall who would go on to dominate qualifying taking all 4 rounds to line up on TQ, ahead of Michael Chapman & Adam Southgate. Leg 1 saw drama on Lap 2 that shuffled the pack a bit and led to a race long battle with Ethan trying to recover against Ben & Adam positions swapped a few times but Michael Chapman was able to manage the gap to bring home the Leg win. Leg 2 Ethan was able to take a lights to tone win with plenty of action behind as positions again changed as they fought to push on, giving Michael the overall win for the day ahead of the TQ man Ethan Southall & Ben Moorey making a position back to 3rd.
