Capelli K6 1:6 Competition Kart
After more than two years of development, the Capelli K6 is now officially available. A passion project of the Australian company’s owner Ryan Capel, it was designed from the ground up as a purpose-built 1:6 electric competition kart and introduces a new category to RC racing by combining the driving characteristics of full-size KZ racing karts with the performance expected from modern competition RC chassis. The forged carbon fibre two-piece chassis incorporates a central pitching damper system to control chassis movement while maintaining consistent rear tyre contact. Extensive adjustment is available including camber, caster, toe, Ackermann, ride height, stub axle / kingpin offset and roll centre, allowing the chassis to be tuned across a wide range of track conditions. A key feature of the design is an adjustable mass positioned opposite the motor to optimise lateral weight distribution. The position of the weight can be fine-tuned to suit different electronics and track conditions, while optional weights further expand the tuning range.
The integrated electronics layout has been designed with both performance and practicality in mind. The radio compartment is concealed within the driver figure, while battery changes are completed by simply loosening two screws and lifting the driver assembly. A dedicated cooling duct directs airflow from a 30mm fan onto the speed controller for improved thermal management during racing. The K6 comes as a rolling chassis kit and is compatible with standard 540-size brushless motors and can be configured for either 1S or 2S LiPo power, making it adaptable to a variety of racing classes. The chassis runs on 1/12 size foam tyres developed specifically for carpet and asphalt racing.
