Hudy Balkan Series Round 2 Bulgaria – Report
The second round of the 2026 Hudy Balkan Series took place recently at the Slivnitsa RC Track in Bulgaria where it would be Xray’s Christian Kostadinov who pulled off the doubled on a weekend that saw every Top Qualifier converted to race wins. Located around 30km outside Sofia, the event would attract 37 entries over four classes and qualifying counted for everything. The Elceram Modified class produced the closest qualifying with Kostadinov and Razvan Stroe both scoring a perfect 100 but the TQ went to Kostadinov on countback with Boyan Stamenov securing third. Come the finals, winner of Round 1 of the series back in June, Kostadinov took A1 and A2 for what would be his second win of the weekend, and Stroe’s A3 victory enough for second overall. Stamenov completed what would be his second podiums of the day.
In 1:10 Stock 13.5 Outlaw, the weekend’s biggest class, it was Kostadinov who reigned from the first session. He was quickest in timed practice on a 52.569 three-lap average against 53.420 for Stamenov, and then took TQ on a maximum points from Stamenov and Georgi Shiklev. Kostadinov won A1 and A2 to wrap the class up, and Stamenov answered with the A3 win to secure second overall. Third went the distance with Kaloyan Ivanov and Shiklev finishing level on six points, but Ivanov took the last podium place on countback. Zdravko Jnakiev, Radost Kostadinova, Alexandru Georgescu and Maria Dimitrova completed the order.
GT Stock delivered the standout result of the series so far. Radost Kostadinova qualified on pole ahead of Maria Dimitrova and Angelina Stamenova for an all female top three. Kostadinova then did what the other pole-sitters did, winning A1 and A2 to take the class early. Dimitrova took the A3 win and second overall, with Konstantin Gankov third and Stamenova fourth.
In 1:10 FWD, Stroe made up for his Modified near-miss here, topping qualifying from Kaloyan Ivanov and Angelina Stamenova before taking the win. Ivanov’s A3 win left him second overall, with Stamenova third ahead of Georgi-Ventsislav Penev and Antonia Dimitrova. The series continues with Round 3 at Shumen, Bulgaria on 25-27 September, before the Grand Final at Dionisos near Athens, Greece on 24-25 October.
