IFMAR announces 2027 World Championship dates, no 1:12 details

IFMAR has published dates for four of the five World Championships that the World governing body of RC racing will stage in 2027 with no details for 1:12 listed. After the cancellation of their World Championships in China earlier this year, 1:12 is widely expected to be hosted at the end of 2027 however no official details have been confirmed yet by IFMAR. The first World Champion of 2027 will be crowned in 1:8 GT which travels to Lostallo in Switzerland from July 25-27th, the reigning World Champion being Raptor’s Alessio Mazzeo who did the double in Chile. Then it is the turn of 1:10 Offroad to crown two World Champions as it returns to the Hudy Arena in Slovakia from August 24th to September 4th. In 2025 it was Schumacher’s Broc Champlin and Team Associated’s Marcus Kaerup who took the titles Down-under at the brilliantly presented & executed Worlds at the Hills RC Off Road track in Sydney. While the 4WD Champion is being crowned in Slovakia, over in Italy the sport’s original category will be beginning a marathon long event with the 25th running of the 1:8 Onroad WC at Fiorano. Despite years of complaints from both manufacturers and drivers on its duration, this event is still scheduled for 10-days. Mugen Seiki’s Shoki Takahata became a multiple World Champion in Chile as he won the title for a second time. A new addition to the World Championship calendar in 2025 with Kaerup taking the inaugural title in Portugal, 1:8 eBuggy travels across the Atlantic to Florida for its 2nd edition to the new Gateway RC Track from September 29th to October 3rd.
