Hara doubles at Nitro Shock 2026 – Report

Organised by Rickside Design and held at RC Land Taki in Japan, Nitro Shock 2026 took place over the weekend where Team Cayote’s Atsushi Hara won the newly introduced eBuggy category before doing the double with the Nitro win. Hara together with Team Mugen’s Kenji Tsuruta and Team Kyosho’s Juliya Kajiwara and Itaru Kawamoto headed the entry for the event which selected the Hurricane EVO tyre from VP PRO as the official control tyres for the race. In the eBuggy class, it was the Kyosho of Kawamoto who secured the TQ, and the top four engaged in a great battle from the very start of the final. Leader Tsuruta made a mistake, allowing Cayote powered Sworkz S354e of Hara to take the lead and go on to win the race. In the Nitro Buggy Open class, the Mugen of Tsuruta secured the TQ, and in the final, the top six drivers engaged in a close battle for the lead from the start through the middle of the race. As the drivers made mistakes one by one, Hara driving a O.S. powered HB D819RS took the lead in the latter half of the race, set a new fastest lap time, pulled away from the pack, and claimed the victory.
