French nitro on-road nationals Rd4 – Report

French nitro on-road nationals Rd4 – Report

The 4th round of the French nitro on-road nationals took place under mixed weather conditions. All qualifiers would be run in dry track conditions and in the 1/8 Elite class it was Anthony Abisset (Serpent) who took TQ in front of Benjamin Brasset (Serpent) and Arnaud Mathieu (Capricorn). In the National class 14 years old Gaetan “Iceman” Nousse (Serpent) outperformed Ludovic Cesar (Serpent) and Benjamin Coulaud (Capricorn).

Come Sunday morning the track was flooded and all semi-finals were run in wet conditions, which caused the usual radio problems for some due to the water on the track. National class TQ Gaetan Nousse was one of drivers who suffered severe problems and he was not able to bump up into the main final.

For the Elite class main final the track was completely dry. 2 minutes before the start TQ Anthony Abisset had to call for a 10 minute time out due to throttle servo problems but he was still late for the start meaning he had to start from the pits. Anthony then decided to stay on the same set of tyres for the whole 45 minute final and this allowed him not only to make up the lost time at the start but also to finish 1st in front of Serpent teammate Christophe Louis and Mugen’s Stephane Bertrand.
