Teddy Syach wins rain effected Rd4 in Indonesia

The 4th round of the Indonesian 1/8th scale national championships was held recently in JITC Senayan circuit, Jakarta. The weather was cloudy from the start of the race and the qualifying had to have the second heat re-run due to rain. It was Teddy Syach who took his Mugen MRX5 to pole position setting the only 20 lapper @ 5.15, followed by Toni Kundjung (Mugen MRX5) with a 19 laps @ 5.02. Xray drivers, Sadikin Sutrisno and provisional standings leader Bowie Ginting took 3rd and 4th place respectively with a very close gap of 0.048 seconds. Suwardi Suliandy (Xray) completed the top 5. Seven minutes into the grand final, the rain suddenly came down hard and forced the organizer to stop the race. Because there wasn’t 75% race distance run yet, the result was taken from the qualifying result.

The 52nd installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj talks about this year’s races so far with a focus on their 1/8th scale World Championship debut with the new RX8 chassis.

Considering that some of the drivers only got their cars a few days before leaving for the Worlds, it was no surprise to see some of them building or finishing the car at the track. We handed out some of the last-minute new option parts for set-up tuning to all the team member, and then got to work.
