Motonica have announced the release of their new P81 version RS3. The main new improvements include the new chassis plate, new rear shock absorber body and front shock absorbers shafts and a new servo saver Ackerman plate. The new chassis aims to increase grip and add more steering while the new shock absorbers body is longer, resulting in more traction and more steering of the car, while the new Ackerman helps offer smoother driving and more steering.
Racers hit the carpet once more for round 2 of the Sweep UK Rug Racers series. With almost maximum capacity across Touring and GT12 (as well as a very good attendance of 1/12th Circuit drivers) the day would be a busy one. 13.5T qualifying and Ashley Wiffen (Schumacher Mi4cxl) was on top spot after round 1 with 26/ 307.81. Behind him Jimmy Maddison was on form and looking good for a top spot with Colin Gardner showing some good early pace in 3rd. Ashley would improve his time by 5 second in round 2 with fellow Schumacher team mate, and last year’s champ, Paul Pinkney now moving to second spot on another 26 lap run. Jimmy would also improve to 26 to stay in there with 3rd spot. The track was getting ever quicker, and with it Jimmy put in a blistering 27/ 306.16 in round 3 to top the table ahead of Paul and Ashley both on 27 laps as well. It was clear that to be in the A-main a 27 or fast 26 would be needed. Ashley set to it and was pulling out everything to take pole, and he did with a 27/ 301.79 . Paul improved on his time to go 2nd a few seconds shy of Ashley, with Jimmy in 3rd spot with his round 3 time.

Elangears have released the follow up to their EL-01D compact charger with the release of the Elan-R. The updated device sports a clearer orange LCD screen and more power. Powered by DC 11V – 16V it now has a charging output of 0.1 to 15A and a discharge current of 0.1 to 7A making it a significant update on the previous version.

Following the great success of last year’s Charity race at the RC Landia permanent carpet track in Italy, the organisers are happy to announce the Charity Race 2012, “We love Emilia”, to be held on their new CRC carpet from the 8th to 9th of December. Having raised more than EUR 5000 last year, this year’s amount will go towards the financing the Maternity ward of the Scandiano Hospital that needs new equipments for the diagnosis of newborn babies. This year, thanks to ToniSport, Xray and Yokomo, they will have competing Marc Rheinard, Ronald Volker, Alexander Hagberg, Vicktor Wilck, Yannic Prumper, Eric Dankel, Martin Hudy, Sandro Kuriger, Rene Klockner, David Ehrbar and Anna Wysgol. Also attending will be the best drivers from all over Italy such as European front runners Francesco Martini, Alessio Menicucci, Alessandro Brunelli and Michele Romagnoli for a weekdend of fun, charity, good food and racing. SMI Motorsport, German importers for Xray, have announced the signing of Torsten Müller to their Racing Team. The reigning German Class 2 Champion, will run the company’s Xray RX8 for the upcoming season at National and International Events. Torsten had the following to say about the deal:

Round 2 of the Essex Winter Series took place this weekend. Despite low temperatures outside, the fully heated indoor tennis centre facility left most spending the day in t-shirts and the large carpet circuit offering high levels of grip from the start. The format for the series is five qualifying rounds, with the best 3 to count, and single leg finals. In the Super Stock 13.5 class, the five rounds of qualifying produced some incredibly close racing, with positions between the top drivers often changing lap-by-lap.
