RC Concept SC10R 1/10th brushless speed controller

RC Concept have introduced their all-new SC10R 1/10th brushless speed controller. Featuring the self-developed WTI technology the speedo brings together innovative programming and hardware with the new algorithms and a fast 32-bit processor, making for perfect power and brake control and ensuring the driver always feels perfectly connected to the car. On top of this help Japanese-made high-power FETs to efficiently use the power of today’s high-performance LiPo and LiHV batteries. The water and dust protected ESC is easily programmable using RC Concept’s EC Box or PC software and it has already proven its capabilities by coming in 3rd at this week’s EFRA 2WD European Championship in the hands of Reno Savoya.

STRC 4-Tec 2.0 carbon & aluminium option parts

ST Racing Concepts have announced a range of graphite and CNC-machined aluminium option parts for the Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0 Ford GT and Mustang GT RTR cars. Designed to increase both the performance and durability of Traxxas’s latest on-road platform, first up are carbon fibre front and rear shock towers. They help keeping the suspension functioning properly in soaking up the bumps and providing traction by eliminating the plastic nylon shock towers and replacing them with high quality graphite parts. They are more rigid and do away with unwanted flex, leaving shocks to do their work properly while adding that factory racing look the car. The towers are available separately for the front and rear and they include suitable mounting hardware.

JConcepts 190mm touring car body shell – First images

Spotted on the car of Serpent’s Felix Law at the latest round of the CETC at RCI V2 in Shanghai is a 190mm touring car body shell from JConcepts. Still in development it is exciting to see that the off-road specialist is entering the on-road market with a somewhat unique looking shell that features a very characteristic front section that is significantly longer compared to current bodies. The idea behind the design is to do away with the need for extremely forward mounted bodies, which is done to gain further steering emphasis, keeping the overall appearance intact and the wheel houses where they belong. Nevertheless Felix’ prototype body still is being mounted a tad forward here in Shanghai as you can see from our images. Other design elements include a very pronounced grill section, ribbing in front of the windscreen for improved stability as well as an anti-tuck rear bumper section. We are not allowed to do close up photos but we bring you more information on the project’s development as soon as they surface.

JConcepts Octagons 1/10th buggy tyres

Coming from JConcepts are the new Octagons 1/10th buggy tyres for high-bite slick tyre racing. At the appropriate time, and when less tread is an advantage, vehicles can be tough to drive and this is where the Octagons kick in as JConcepts has removed a little surface area in the geometry based pattern. The carcass is new, slightly more round than JConcepts’ slick tyres of the past and it incorporates heavy X-pattern style inner ribbing for increased support. The continuous thickness carcass is light-weight and utilises the industry standard 2.2″ mounting bead. Like the name suggests, the embossed tread which is Octagon shaped is repeated and overlapped to form a subculture of grippy surface edges for dry or abrasive surfaces. The Octagons are available as 2WD front, 4WD front and general rear tyre in green, black and indoor clay, gold compounds to match just about any racing surface. Each package includes the Dirt-Tech inserts.
