Ty Tessmann takes 2017 ROAR Nitro Truck title

The 2017 ROAR Fuel Offroad Nationals were held at Stateline RC Raceway last weekend. Rainy weather made things unpleasant at times but the track owners went above and beyond to make sure everyone had everything they needed and more, and got the track ready to run again after the rain came. In the Nitro Truck A-main runner-up after the qualifiers, Ty Tessmann (Xray) tried to keep up with leader Ryan Maifield (Mugen) right from the beginning and he waited for an opportunity to pass. Both battled back and forth during the beginning of the race but eventually Maifield made a bigger mistake which allowed Tessmann to get out in front and form a gap between them. Ty didn’t push too hard but just tried to maintain the gap and finish the race in 1st place which he was able to do, giving him his 4th national Truggy title. Behind Tessmann, Ryan Maifield and Tekno RC’s Ryan Lutz would round out the podium result.

Coming from Yokomo and made for the YZ2 2WD buggy are new option parts in the form of a 1.0mm gearbox spacer set as well as a rear shock tower and 3-gear motor plate for raised gearbox setups. Starting with the gearbox spacer set, the set includes a gearbox spacer, a rear suspension mount spacer as well as front brace spacers all of which will raise the gearbox and all attached parts by 1.0mm. Raising the transmission will result in increased chassis roll which can be beneficial especially when running lightweight LCG battery packs or when less angled rear driveshafts are needed.

BMT introduce new 016GT option parts

Italian company BMT has introduced new option parts for the 016GT 1/8th on-road car. First up is a new aluminium main chassis plate that is made using a different grade material. The updated chassis will produce more overall traction while improving handling at the same time. Also new are front lower arm mounts in +2mm specification. The parts raise the suspension attachment point by 2mm which results in a lowered roll centre which is meant to improve steering especially on lower grip tracks. Also new and made for the front of the 016GT is a front bulkhead brace for improved steering emphasis while new 2mm front bulkhead spacers allow to change the front dynamic camber. Last but not least comes a new 17T 1st gear pinion.
