Tamiya Konghead 6×6 1/18th monster truck kit

Coming this June is Tamiya’s new Konghead 1/18th scale 6×6 monster truck kit. Based off of the GF-01 the all-new G6-01 6-wheeler chassis utilises three gear differentials, a front-mounted 540-size motor and an independent double wishbone suspension with optional 4-wheel steering capability. The 420mm long truck is compatible with many GF-01 option parts and it comes including a Bullhead-inspired bodyshell and chrome plated wheels.

Vigor RC BD8 carbon fibre flex chassis & bumper brace

Vigor RC have introduced two new carbon fibre option parts for the Yokomo BD8 in the form of a flex chassis and a front bumper brace. Starting with the chassis, the part is machined from high-quality 2.5mm material and special cut-outs make for increased flex which results in higher corner speeds. The chassis weighs in at 66g, about the same as the standard 2.25mm chassis. The second new part is a carbon fibre front bumper brace that was designed to replace the standard composite plastic item with a more rigid and also cooler looking item. The brace includes two carbon fibre bushings.

Sweep Racing welcome Lee Martin

Sweep Racing have announced the signing of multi-time EFRA European Champion, Lee Martin to their factory team. Lee will be using Sweep off-road tyres and accessories at all open tyre events this coming season and he had the following to say:

I am excited to be joining sweep for 2017. The desire to succeed and become as strong as they can be is what convinced me that Sweep is a company with the same ambition I have. Pichakorn & Surikarn win at Huge RC Challenge Rd2

The second round of the Huge RC Challenge was held at the Huge RC facility in Thailand this past weekend. In the 1/10th Touring class it was Pichakorn who took the TQ but he suffered from an engine flame out at the start of the final, sending him down the order and he was already two laps behind when he finally managed to get back into the race. With a tremendous pace Pichakorn was able to make up ground and some five minutes before the end he was able to get into the lead, eventually tanking the win from Anutin in second and Den in third. Elsewhere in the 1/8th Nitro class, Surikarn would take the win on home soil, battling with top qualifier Benz for a while until the latter ran into mechanical issues which allowed Surikarn to cruise to the win with Panyavit and Sittichai coming in second and third respectively.

Bowie Ginting wins at Indonesian On-road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the Indonesian Electric On-road National Championship was held at the Giant Arena in Banjarmasin on Borneo Island. An attractively huge and technical layout attracted a total of 65 drivers to competed in the 1/10th Modified and FWD classes. In the Touring Modified category, Christian Mamesah would take Q1 while in Q2 Bowie Ginting stroke back following some technical issues in the opening qualifier. In the third and final qualifier Bowie sealed his overall TQ with his second 17-laps run.

Samix SCX10 II aluminium front bumper mount

Following the recent introducton of a rear bumper mount for the Axial SCX10 II truck, Samix now also have a dedicated front bumper mount available. Updated in terms of design, the bumper mount is of a low-profile design which reduces chassis overhang by about 4mm in order to increase front clearance when attacking difficult trails. CNC-machined from aluminium the part is available in three different colours, it sports engraved logos and also increases overall chassis rigidity thanks to its sturdy construction.

Vision Racing T5M & SC5M “laydown” rear shock tower

Vision Racing have introduced a special rear shock tower for the Team Associated T5M and SC5M trucks that allows to run the B6-series laydown transmission in both. The tower is cut from high-quality 4mm quasi-directional carbon fibre and its design allows to convert the older T5M and SC5M to utilise a modern laydown gearbox with minimal modifications.

Team Associated B64 Team Kit 1/10th 4WD buggy kit

Team Associated have introduced the B64 Team Kit 1/10th scale 4WD kit. Sharing the design as well as most features with the already released B64D buggy, the B64 is aimed towards racing on medium to high-bite surfaces, excelling on high-traction surfaces with the buggy’s adjustable axle height and roll centres result in a stable yet nimble platform. With a new and improved centre slipper using Low Coefficient Friction LCF pads, the B64 rewards the driver with maximum drive out of all four wheels on artificial turf and carpet surfaces. Other features include V2 12mm big bore shock absorbers, front and rear anti-roll bars, strengthened front and rear suspension with hard anodised caster blocks and carbon fibre shock towers as well as a Team Associated bodyshell and a JConcepts-made screw-on rear wing.
