Xray XB2 brass rear lower suspension mounts

Coming from Xray and made for the XB2 2WD off-road buggy are the RF and RR lower suspension mounts machined from heavy brass material. The parts match the standard kit geometry and are usable with the I.S.S. suspension inserts for quick and easy set-up changes. Due to being heavier than the standard alloy parts the hangers improve stability and traction on lower grip surfaces. The mounts are available separately as RF and RR variants.

Jin Sawada takes second Speed King Tour win

Round five of the 2016 Speed King Tour was held at the Keitune Racing Speedway, host of this year’s JMRCA Japan Electric Touring Nationals. As the race was the unofficial warm-up, many racers used the event to get some laps under their belts for the nationals at the end of July. For this race the Stock class was also run with 13.5T motors over the usual 17.5T machines to allow for better comparability for the open class racers that have to use 13.5T motors at the nationals. During practice, Yokomo driver Yugo Nagashima showed his speed in the Modified class with team mate Jin Sawada being on the same pace as Yugo. After the practice, most drivers also decided to use the Rush 44 hand-out tyre that will be used at the nationals. Overall the qualifier were pretty challenging with changing track conditions, making setup work a tough task. Ultimately Jin Sawada made the best out of the conditions, taking the TQ while Yugo only qualified for the 7 spot on the grid, suffering set-up issues.

Axon silicone shock & differential O-rings

Japanese company Axon have introduced new silicone shock and differential O-rings for a range of vehicles. The P3-size shock and P5-size differential O-ring seals are made using a special silicone material that is less prone to swell under the influence of silicone fluids while also making for exceptional sealing, greatly reducing leaking issues. On top of this the silicone rubber reduces the friction between the shafts and the rings, making for a softer break-away and overall smoother damper and diff action. The P3 shock seals are available as soft and medium hardness variant in 8-piece packs while the P5 diff seal comes in 2-piece packs.

Mugen Challenge 2016 – Announcement

LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mill, Pennsylvania will play host to the 2016 Mugen Challenge from August 19th to 21st. The event will see the usual mix of Expert, Intermediate and Novice classes in both electric and nitro, plus 4WD Mod SCT and SCT Lites racing. Additionally Mugen Seiki’s Adam Drake will be holding a clinic with one-on-one car setup. Tornado Racing 335R .21 off-road engine

Showgame have introduced the Tornado Racing 335R .21 nitro off-road engine. The 3.5cc engine weighs in at 335g, it is of a 3-port-plus-booster design, features a silicone-filled crankshaft and it produces up to 2.4HP at 31,200 RPM.

JConcepts 12mm AE replacement shock O-ring set

JCocepts 12mm AE replacement shock O-ring set

Coming from JConcepts is a replacement shock O-ring set for Team Associated’s 12mm dampers. The larger 14mm replacement shock O-rings are designed to fit to the shock cap for sealing the top of the shock body. The same 14mm O-ring also fits inside the shock adjustment collar and the smaller 8.5mm version fits the lower shock cap which seals the bottom of the shock body. The seals are blue in colour for identification and produced in a medium/soft material for the ultimate in sealing and mating characteristics. The items are compatible with Team Associated 12mm stock kit components as well as the JConcepts hop-up items made to replace the same parts.

Patrick Hofer wins Swiss 1/8th Buggy Nats Rd5

The fifth round of the Swiss 1/8th Buggy Nationals was held at the ORCM club in Montagny. The weather conditions were pretty challenging with heavy rain on Saturday and burning sun on Sunday, meaning the track surface would break up, revealing loads of stones on the racing line which made car setup pretty difficult. The A-main event was highlighted by the engine flame-outs of various drivers and with about 10 minutes to go, the race for the win was a 2-horse battle between Patrick Hofer and Joachim Kallen. Both raced nose to tail with Joachim in front, fending off all attacks by Patrick. Then, in the last corner of the final lap, Joachim’s engine stalled “LeMans 2016 style”, handing Patrick the win in an exciting final.

Ruddog RP120 sensored brushless speed controller

Ruddog Distribution have introduced their all-new RP120 sensored brushless speed controller for 1/10th scale applications. Rated at 120A and sporting an aluminium case the ESC is designed with both on-road and off-road racing in mind. The integrated heavy-duty switch minimises wiring and several timing and turbo functions, programmable using an optional programming box, give extra performance for boosted racing classes. The controller comes including a replaceable receiver wire, capacitor board and all-black power wires.
